" My first time of making $1million, I gave my parents $150,000 and $5,000 to my Girlfriend. But she said the money was too small and broke up with me"__ Akon

"When I made my first $1 million from music, I was so excited that I spent it very quickly.

The first thing I bought was a professional studio for $250,000. That way, even if my music career failed, I could still write and produce songs for other artists.
I gave my mum $150,000 and my dad another $150,000. I also gave each of my brothers $25,000 to start their own businesses.

When my girlfriend at the time heard about the money, she asked me for $200,000. I laughed and gave her only $5,000. I have a rule: I never give any woman more than 2% of my total money.

She broke up with me immediately, but I wasn’t bothered. I realised she was only interested in my money, not me.

The truth is, if you want to stay rich as a man, you have to be very careful and st:ngy with women"

KAMPALA - Health ministers from South Sudan, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have agreed to strengthen cross‑border surveillance and early warning systems to contain an ongoing Ebola outbreak, officials said.

The commitment was among 12 resolutions adopted at a cross‑border coordination conference on the Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak held in Kampala over the weekend.

The meeting brought together government officials and international partners, including the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF, alongside other development and technical agencies.

In a joint outcome, the three countries pledged to enhance coordinated disease surveillance mechanisms, including event‑based surveillance, joint contact tracing, active case finding and real‑time information sharing.

They also agreed to establish routine cross‑border coordination meetings and harmonised reporting systems to improve response efficiency.

Participants further committed to strengthening public health measures at both official and unofficial points of entry. These include improved traveller screening, alert management, referral pathways and monitoring of population movements along high‑risk mobility corridors and border communities.

The ministers emphasised the need to protect vulnerable groups, including frontline health workers, displaced populations, mining communities and border residents who face heightened exposure to the virus.

According to the WHO, the outbreak, centred in the DRC, has resulted in 177 suspected deaths and some 750 suspected cases.

Uganda has meanwhile confirmed three new cases, bringing its total number of infections in the current outbreak to five, as authorities intensify contact tracing efforts to curb further spread.
