‎OFAO Team Meets Lainya County Administration to Discuss Humanitarian Aid and Development

‎Lainya County, 13th Feb,2026
‎A team from Organisation for Food and Agricultural Opportunities (OFAO), led by Mr. Gift Moses, M&E Coordinator, met with the Commissioner of Lainya County, Hon. Robert Lasu John Morris, RRC Coordinator, and Director for Agriculture, yesterday.
‎
‎The meeting discussed areas of humanitarian aid, development, and peace building in Lainya County. Mr. Gift Moses briefed the county administration on OFAO's upcoming agricultural project in Mukaya Payam and Kupera Payam, a cross-border project covering South Sudanese from West Nile Uganda, Yei River county, and Lainya county.

‎Mr. Ayume Samuel, Community Development Center, highlighted peace building initiatives in the payams. The Director of Agriculture and RRC Coordinator welcomed the project, promising cooperation with humanitarian workers.
‎
‎Hon. Robert Lasu John Morris expressed willingness to support NGO activities and appealed for project expansion to other payams in Lainya County.

The Commissioner of Lainya County, Hon. Robert John Lasu Morris, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), is proud to announce the successful completion of the new Women’s Association Center in Lainya County. This initiative aims to empower women in the county, providing them with essential resources, training, and support to enhance their livelihoods and foster community development.

The center is designed to serve as a hub for women to gather, learn, and collaborate on various economic and social initiatives. It will offer programs focused on skills development, entrepreneurship, and health education, ultimately contributing to the overall well-being of women and their families in Lainya County.
