JUST IN: The People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) has officially been registered as a political party in South Sudan, marking a major milestone for the opposition group led by former Vice President Josephine Joseph Lagu Yanga.

In a statement issued today, the party said its registration grants it full legal status to participate in the country’s political processes. It confirmed its readiness to contest the December 2026 elections.

PDM, a member of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA), says it remains committed to implementing the Revitalized Peace Agreement and to democratic governance in South Sudan.
