Resolutions of Extended Leadership Council Meeting held on 29th April 2023.

The SSNMC Leadership held its 3rd Leadership Council Meeting of the year on 29th April 2023.
As the usual tradition dictates, the meeting was opened with prayers followed by a few welcoming remarks from Hon. Ukele Eddy Gumass and Hon. Ishag Elias Ibrahim, Secretary General and Deputy Chairperson, respectively, before the Chairperson, Hon. Moro Isaac Jenesio delivered his keynote address. In his keynote address, Hon. Moro highlighted some of the challenges SSNMC encountered throughout the struggles for reforms, inclusivity, and equity and as well as the progress made amidst constraints.

The Chairperson acknowledged and appreciated all tireless efforts put by all members to have the Party reached where it stands today. He, however, encouraged the members to carry on with this commitment and hard work as the Party edges towards the set goal.
The meeting further provided an opportunity to all constitutional post holders representing SSNMC in R-TGoNU at various levels, State Chairpersons, and Chapter representatives to present their reports on the status of R-ARCSS implementation, peace dissemination, security situation and overall working relationships with all peace partners at all levels.

Following long and fruitful deliberations, the Leadership Council meeting resolved the following;
1. Acknowledged and appreciated the government for its swift response to evacuate the trapped citizens in Sudanese Capital, Khartoum.

2. Urged the government to provide all the necessary humanitarian assistance to all the needy, especially those who have lost contact with their relatives back home as a result of endless circumstances.

3. To invest in Agriculture as a way of addressing overwhelming food insecurities in the nearest future.

4. Directed all the States and Chapter leaders to redouble their efforts in coordination and dissemination of peace messages to grassroots and depressed refugees in their respective locations overseas.

5. Reaffirmed its numerous calls on our Peace Partner (especially the Party involved) to respect the implementation of R-ARCSS in letter and spirit of the agreement by giving back to SSNMC its positions currently being occupied by the former Party Leader (Hon. Bakosoro) and associates who defected to join the SPLM Party on 15th September 2021.

6. To fast-track all efforts and energies geared towards official launching and registration of SSNMC when the Political Parties Council is finally reconstituted.

7. To continue with its guardian roles and strategies as a way of ensuring accountability on Party members, government stakeholders at various levels, and society at large.

8. Urged the government to intervene and address alarming security situations across the States.

9. Urged the government to shoulder reconciliatory responsibility and put non-partisan efforts in addressing the escalating violence in Sudan as stability of neighbourhood and region generally plays key and effective role on stable security and development across the region and beyond.

10. Directed all State and Chapter leaders to continue building good working relations with all peace partners for effective and successful implementation of R-ARCSS in the letter and spirit of the agreement.
