MODI LAW CHAMBERS extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the esteemed judges recently promoted by His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit, as announced on South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC). We commend the elevation of six distinguished justices to the Supreme Court and eighteen accomplished judges to the Court of Appeal, as well as the promotions across various levels of the judiciary.
This development marks a significant and timely step in strengthening the judiciary and upholding the rule of law in our beloved nation. We particularly applaud His Excellency the President for his decisive leadership and commitment to judicial reform, and we equally recognize the commendable efforts of the newly appointed Chief Justice, Hon. Benjamin Bak Deng, and the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
The infusion of new judicial appointments and the ongoing recruitment initiative reflect a much-needed response to the longstanding case backlog and challenges facing the justice system. This progressive move not only enhances the capacity of our courts but also restores public confidence in the integrity and independence of the judiciary.
