‎Commissioner Emmanuel Moves to Secure Wuluturu Culvert Access Before Rains Hit

‎The Commissioner of Yei River County, Hon. Emmanuel Taban Seme, has ordered the immediate fast-tracking of rehabilitation works at Wuluturu Culvert, following a hands-on inspection at the site today.

‎Standing with engineers and technical teams on the ground, the Commissioner assessed progress and stressed the urgency of completing the structure before the heavy rains begin. He described the culvert as a lifeline for the community — ensuring safe movement of farmers, traders, school children, patients, and transporters who depend on the route daily.

‎“This is not just concrete and soil,” the Commissioner emphasized. “It is access to markets, health services, and livelihoods.”
‎
‎He directed the Department of Roads and Physical Infrastructure to accelerate the pace of work, warning that delays could isolate communities, disrupt economic activities, and hinder essential services once the rainy season sets in.
‎
‎Hon. Emmanuel reaffirmed the County Government’s commitment to restoring critical infrastructure efficiently while longer-term plans for a permanent bridge at the site remain under consideration.

‎For the people of Wuluturu and surrounding areas, the message is clear: access must be protected — and it must be protected now.
