BREAKING NEWS: Former Abyei Chief Administrator Justice Kuol Alor Kuol Arop Dies in Juba

South Sudan has lost one of its senior political and judicial figures, H.E. Justice Kuol Alor Kuol Arop, the former Chief Administrator of the Abyei Special Administrative Area, who passed away in Juba, according to information shared by his family on Facebook.

Justice Kuol Alor-Jok served as the second Chief Administrator of Abyei after being appointed by President Salva Kiir Mayardit in February 2017. He succeeded Chol Deng Alak during a critical period in the administration of the contested Abyei region.

Known for his legal background and leadership experience, Justice Kuol later formed the Abyei regional administration by appointing ministers and advisors to strengthen governance and public service delivery in the area.

Throughout his public service, he remained an influential figure in matters concerning Abyei, community affairs, and regional stability between South Sudan and Sudan.

His death marks a great loss to the people of Abyei and the nation at large.
