Hargeisa, Somaliland – July 21, 2024 – The Somaliland Youth Development Fund (SLYDF) announced the launch of a five-day Train-the-Trainer (TOT) Entrepreneurship Program today. This initiative aims to equip educators from the country's universities with the knowledge and skills necessary to empower young people with the tools they need to launch and grow successful businesses.
The intensive 5-day training program targets university educators, building their capacity to guide young entrepreneurs who will benefit from SLYDF's funding. The program's opening ceremony included prominent figures such as the Minister of Youth and Sports (Abdirisaq Muse Farah) and also the BOD Chairman of SLYDF, Executive Director of the SLYDF Khader Ibrahim Mohamed. Additionally, the Director General of the Higher Education Commission, the Executive Director of the SONYO Umbrella, and SLYDF representatives graced the event. By empowering educators, the SLYDF's TOT program creates a ripple effect, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship among Somaliland's youth.
