Through the Igniting Community Action to End Teenage Pregnancy, FGM, and SGBV project, supported by thIreland in Sierra Leoneerra Leone, Girls in STEM Initiative is implementing reusable sanitary pad training and digital literacy sessions for girls in Matainkay and Masorie communities.

We are empowering girls with practical skills to manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence, while strengthening their knowledge in digital and ICT skills. By integrating health education with technology, we are supporting girls to stay in school, become self-reliant, and make informed decisions about their futures. Reusable pads gives them confidence, freedom, and control every month

Together for a , we remain committed to breaking stigma, improving access to menstrual products and education, and creating safe environments where menstruation never limits a girl’s dignity, health, or education.

Clean Periods, Confident Girls 🩺

Through the Community Action Project, supported by the Ireland in Sierra Leone, we are training girls in Masorie and matainkay Community on menstrual hygiene and sanitary pad production. This will empowers girls with knowledge on safe menstrual health practices while providing practical skills for sustainable livelihood.

The training also creates a safe space to break the silence around menstruation misconceptions, build their confidence, and promote dignity every period. Every girl deserves access to a clean periods, proper care, and support.

When girls are empowered with menstrual hygiene education, they stay healthier, remain in school, and thrive in their communities.
