Our Mayor in Waiting!!!!
31st March 2026
In a strong show of unity and solidarity, all twenty-two councillors of the Freetown City Council stand firmly with Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr and her Deputy, Kweku Lisk, amid allegations that four APC councillors accepted one hundred thousand new Leones each to impeach the Mayor.
We categorically reject and debunk these claims as they are baseless, misleading and clearly intended to create division and distraction from the progress being made in Freetown.
As councillors of the Mighty APC, we remain united in purpose and unwavering in our commitment to serve the people of Freetown. We stand by the Mayor and her Deputy, recognizing their leadership and the strides made under their administration.
We reaffirm our collective responsibility to the people of Freetown and remain focused on delivering sustainable development, good governance and improved service delivery.
We call on all Freetownians to remain confident in our leadership and to reject misinformation aimed at undermining our shared progress.
Together, we move forward with resilience, determination and a clear vision for a better Freetown.
