Sign for Peace

This film is from our project at the International Square during the Almedalen Week, the Swedish Politician Week in Visby, july 2012. The project is a feasability study for several events planed for 2014 when the "200 Years of Peace" in Sweden will be highlighted by us.

We need more and better systems to avoid or reduce damage from disasters. One of the most critical of these are present and future flooding disasters, which cause not only many lives to be lost, but also property, agricultural land, financial misery, beyond belief, and thus intense suffering in their wake. A new system is currently in the process of being developed under the name WataWall. A flood defense barrier that incorporates much of the technology used in the new housing systems that are being proposed.

WataWall can be constructed quickly and efficiently on the site of where flooding is likely to occur and does not require the use of sand or earth and thus is not labour intensive.
