Day 2 kicked off with David Whitney and it was exactly the keynote this moment needed.

He didn’t sugarcoat it. It’s a tough time to be a developer. The noise is loud, the goalposts move daily, and the anxiety is real. He’s felt it too.

But his take? The developers who truly understand their craft are the ones who will navigate this best. Not because AI isn’t powerfu, but because AI is built on human code, written for humans, by humans.

The best developers won’t be replaced. They’ll be the ones who know how to use these tools well.

Thank you David Whitney for this great talk!

Day 2. Let’s go. 🙌

David Whitney takes the keynote stage at 09:00. If you were at the party last night, we’ll see you there (coffee in hand, probably).

Today’s lineup is packed. Highlights include:
→ Dave Platt on why software still sucks
→ Lemon with some honest advice for core web (very on brand after last night)
→ Simon Brown taking C4 beyond the basics
→ A closing panel on the current state and future of AI and development
..and a lot more across 6 tracks all day.

Therese Alshammar took the stage this morning and reminded us that sustained performance isn't about one big moment. It's about the small, consistent things done every single day.

A few things that stuck with us:

→ The team behind you matters as much as the work in front of you

→ Consistency beats intensity, every time

→ The best organizations don't just tolerate failure — they build on it

→ Knowing your own motivation is what keeps you going when things get hard

In an industry moving as fast as tech, it's easy to chase speed and forget the fundamentals. Therese's career is proof that longevity comes from balance, trust, and the courage to keep showing up.

Thank you, Therese Alshammar, for an incredible opening keynote. 🏊

Authentication tells you who someone is. Authorization tells you what they can do.

Most applications get authentication right — and quietly get authorization wrong.

At DevSum 2026, Michele Leroux Bustamante cuts through the complexity of .NET authorization with clear patterns, real pitfalls and guidance you can act on immediately.
