The aviation route map is being redrawn this month — and it's worth paying attention to. ✈️

flydubai is resuming daily Dubai–Aleppo flights on July 20 after a nearly 14-year gap.
Air Zimbabwe restarts Harare–London Gatwick on July 22, three times a week. Air
Canada just launched Montreal–Berlin — the first A321XLR operation ever at Berlin Brandenburg. And Malaysia Airlines added nonstop Kuala Lumpur links to Shenzhen and Changsha.

Behind the headlines is a clear pattern: airlines are betting on longer, more direct routes and reopening corridors that were closed for years.

For flight operators, that's more than news. Reopened routes bring slot competition where there was none. New long-haul narrowbody operations shift handling and fuel demand to airports that weren't built for it. And reactivated corridors come with permit requirements no one has filed recently.

Route expansion is good for the market — but it's a coordination test for everyone flying through it.

Which of these new routes changes the most for your operation? Tell us in the comments. 👇

Saudi aviation is moving into a new digital era.

Riyadh Air’s AI-native airline model shows how technology is becoming part of the operating foundation — not just a support tool.

From real-time data and route optimisation to customer experience, crew planning, and disruption management, AI is reshaping how airlines can make faster and more connected decisions.

For the wider aviation industry, this shift matters.

It raises expectations for speed, coordination, visibility, and operational readiness across every part of the journey.

At Fly ASM, we see this as part of Saudi Arabia’s wider aviation transformation — where digital progress and strong operational ex*****on must work together.

Because innovation in aviation only creates value when it helps the mission move better.

Ground handling is one of the areas where small delays can quickly affect the full flight schedule.

Fuel timing, ramp support, equipment availability, baggage movement, crew transport, and passenger assistance all need to work together.

When one part is not ready, the turnaround can slow down.

That is why clear coordination before arrival matters. It helps operators reduce waiting time, avoid confusion on the ramp, and keep the aircraft movement on schedule.

Good ground handling is not only about speed. It is about making each step predictable.

What exactly is SAF, and why is it dominating conversations about the future of aviation? 🌐👇

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is a cleaner alternative to conventional jet fuel, engineered to significantly lower carbon emissions across the industry. As the aviation sector actively pursues greener solutions, SAF has emerged as one of our strongest avenues for meaningful, scalable impact.

The momentum is shifting rapidly:
🔹 Regional Growth: Saudi Arabia and the broader GCC are actively exploring SAF development, where strategic policies and robust infrastructure will be the true keys to unlocking its potential.
🔹 The Supply Chain Challenge: Transitioning to a sustainable future requires a synchronized effort. Airlines, airports, and fuel suppliers must work hand-in-hand to ensure supply chains are fully prepared for seamless integration.

At FlyASM, we keep our finger on the pulse of global fueling innovations and logistics to help keep our partners ahead of the curve. ✈️⚡
