Alumen (2018) table lamp

EPDA Special Mention 2020

A reading lamp crafted from 900 grams of pure aluminum, designed in 2018 and receiving an EPDA special mention, is now presented in a stylish copper finish. The lamp is made of two hinges and a pipe, eliminating the need for glue or screws. The "Alumen" lamp enables effortless assembly, disassembly, and recycling by the consumer. One hinge, secured with a rod, serves as both the base and a holder for reading glasses. The second hinge functions as an adjustable lampshade that encases the LED chip mounted on an aluminum stick. The pipe arm features two sections with a loop at the corner, providing an ideal storage spot for reading glasses.

The "Falcons" series features light sculptures made from laser-cut aluminum, cast brass, translucent Gemstones , crystals, specifically intended for installation in the grand halls of museums or the sophisticated lobbies of hotels throughout the Middle East. Each sculpture invites viewers to experience a journey of light and emotion, transforming every space into a sanctuary of artistic expression and inspiration.

The word Falcon comes from the Latin word falx, which means "curved blade or sickle".

Falcons are not merely creatures of the wild; they are exalted symbols of bravery and nobility, revered in the Middle East as potent representations of strength, elegance, and an unyielding dignity that stirs the soul.

In a historically significant context, falcons have long been esteemed collaborators in hunting, playing an essential role in the sustenance of their communities. This age-old practice has fostered a profound connection between humans and these remarkable birds—an alliance built on trust, respect, and a mutual goal that goes beyond basic survival, transforming each flight into a harmonious expression of dedication and synergy between two exceptional beings.
