It was incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) under the COMPANIES AND ALLIED MATTER ACT 1 1990, as a Non-Governmental Organization on the 26th of July 2010. Activity of supervising Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) by the National Bank of Rwanda is based on the Law n° 55/2007 of 30/11/2007 governing the Central Bank of Rwanda, the Law n°40/2008 of 26/08/2008 establishing the organization of microfinance activities and its implementing Regulation no°02/2009 of 27/05/2009.
