πŸͺ˜πŸͺ˜GAMBIA TAKES MYANMAR TO ICJ OVER ROHINGYA ATROCITIES πŸͺ˜πŸͺ˜

The International Court of Justice has started hearing a case brought by Gambia against Myanmar. Gambia says Myanmar committed genocide against the Rohingya, a Muslim minority group, in 2017. Over 730,000 Rohingya people were forced to flee to Bangladesh.

Gambia's Justice Minister, Dawda Jallow, says Myanmar's actions were meant to erase the Rohingya as a unique ethnic and religious group. The allegations include mass killings, sexual violence, and destruction of communities.

The court hearings will last three weeks. The outcome could affect other cases, including one against Israel.

Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh are hoping for justice. A final decision may take years, but it could help hold countries accountable for human rights abuses.
