„La început am simțit un gol când inima s-a dus dar acum este în regulă” – așa se numește proiectul nostru de teatru și, într-un fel, așa am simțit și noi când am aflat că, deși am fost nominalizați la DI_PLOMA AWARDS 2025 by OPEN MINDS, nu ne numărăm printre câștigători.

Dar acel gol a fost urmat, foarte repede, de recunoștință. Din peste 200 de proiecte, doar 12 au fost selectate iar 6 au ajuns în categoria CREATIVE. Faptul că spectacolul nostru a fost printre ele ne dă un motiv real să mergem mai departe.

🌱„La început am simțit un gol când inima s-a dus dar acum este în regulă” este un proiect de teatru despre rănile adânci și despre speranța că, uneori, putem învăța să fim bine, chiar și după ce nu am mai fost. Despre realitățile crude ale traficului de persoane, în special al exploatării femeilor, și despre puterea de a spune aceste povești în fața unui public care poate închide ochii... sau poate alege să vadă.

🚨 Dar nu putem să nu spunem și asta: în România, accesul la finanțare pentru proiecte culturale independente este extrem de limitat. Sunt oameni talentați. Sunt idei curajoase, povești care merită spuse, și artiști profesioniști care muncesc cu pasiune. Dar, din păcate, de cele mai multe ori, lipsesc resursele care să le susțină.

Nu a fost să fie acum. Și asta ne pune, din nou, în fața unei întrebări recurente: cm putem duce mai departe proiecte culturale independente, care vorbesc despre lucruri grele, când sprijinul concret pentru ele este atât de rar?

Iar dacă citiți aceste rânduri, poate că într-un fel, sunteți deja parte din drumul nostru. Poate, data viitoare, vom fi mai mulți cei care susținem cultura – nu pentru că e un gest frumos, ci pentru că este un lucru de care avem cu adevărat nevoie.

"It felt empty when the heart went at first but it is alright now"
- that’s the title of our theatre project — and, in a way, it’s also how we felt when we found out that, although we were nominated for the DI_PLOMA AWARDS 2025 by OPEN MINDS, we were not among the winners.

But that sense of emptiness was quickly followed by gratitude. Out of more than 200 submitted projects, only 12 were selected, and 6 made it into the CREATIVE category. The fact that our performance was one of them gives us a real reason to keep going.

🌱"It felt empty when the heart went at first but it is alright now" is a piece about deep wounds and about the hope that, sometimes, we can learn how to be okay again — even after we haven’t been for a long time. It’s about the harsh realities of human trafficking, especially the exploitation of women, and about the power of telling these stories in front of an audience who may choose to look away… or may choose to truly see.

We are sincerely grateful to the organizers and warmly congratulate the winners.

🚨 Still, we feel the need to say this too: in Romania, access to funding for independent cultural projects is extremely limited. There are talented people. There are brave ideas, stories that deserve to be heard, and professional artists working with passion and dedication. But all too often, the resources needed to sustain them are missing.

It wasn’t our time this round. And once again, we’re left facing a familiar question: How can we keep independent cultural projects alive — especially the ones that speak uncomfortable truths — when the concrete support they need is so scarce?

And if you’ve read this far, maybe, in some way, you’re already part of our journey. Maybe next time, there will be more of us who choose to support culture — not because it’s a nice gesture, but because it’s something we truly need.
