First Day of MoBU.

As the doors open for a new edition, we take a moment to remember Mnartgallery's participation in MoBU 2024 and the energy of those days spent in the heart of contemporary art.

Each edition brings together people, ideas, and stories around artistic creation. Some encounters last only a few minutes, yet their memory remains for years.

With these moments in mind, we are delighted to welcome the beginning of a new MoBU edition.

Ioan Nemtoi has brought the sea to a moment of stillness, preserving it within the cool eternity of glass. The work offers the viewer a sensation of depth and clarity while retaining the restless energy that accompanies every marine landscape.

The artist develops the piece far beyond a pictorial representation of the sea. Layers of color embedded within the vessel's surface create volumetric structures where color generates its own reflections, transforming light into an active element of the composition. Transparency, depth, and movement converge into a visual experience that reveals the remarkable expressive possibilities of glass as an artistic medium.

Marina
Fluid rhythms of blue speak about the turbulence of the sea and the quietness we discover beside it. The translucent surfaces and the continuous movement of color create the sensation of a marine breath suspended between energy and contemplation.

Corals Genesis
The marine theme unfolds gracefully across the surface of this work, inviting the viewer into a world of calm depths and continuous movement. Light and transparency intertwine to evoke the mystery of the ocean, where life emerges, evolves, and endlessly renews itself.

Each hue, blue, coral, and green, preserves the memory of underwater light filtered through perpetual motion. The glass seems to breathe, releasing the energy of the sea into the surrounding space, while reflections transform with every shift of the gaze, like currents of color flowing beneath the surface.

In Corals Genesis, form and color become a hymn to creation. The marine universe suggested here transcends time, inviting contemplation, serenity, and reflection upon the infinite cycles of life.

This composition places two opposing visual languages into tension: an instinctual, organic zoomorphic form associated with an abstract vertical structure, austere and restrained. From their conflict emerges the idea of a transformation from the earthly toward a spiritualized expression that preserves its connection to the natural world while elevating it into a higher plane.
