They are the ones who have learned to ask the question that changes everything.
Not because they don't know, but because they understand something more important:
When a person finds their own answer - they own it completely. They grow from it in a way that lasts.
That is one of the highest form of leadership.
And it begins with one thing most leadership programmes don't teach:
The ability to truly listen. Not to respond. Not to fix. Not to impress.
To be fully present with another human being - they can finally hear themselves think.
Coaching skills are leadership skills. And the world is ready for leaders who know the difference.
Leading from within

In a world full of AI-generated answers, are we losing the ability to notice what really matters?
The problem is not a lack of tools.
The problem is that tools can't always spot the subtle shifts, emotions, and moments that can unlock real transformation.
Great coaching happens when we slow down, pay attention, and become curious.
As Andy Robbins shares, sometimes a simple observation like, "I noticed something there..." can open up an entirely new conversation.

You can be successful on paper and still feel disconnected from yourself.
Many people reach a point where they have achieved the career, the responsibilities, and the goals they once wanted, yet something feels missing. They find themselves stuck in familiar patterns, carrying the weight of expectations, and searching for greater clarity, purpose, and fulfilment.
The challenge is not a lack of answers.
The challenge is that we are rarely given the space to explore the questions that matter most.
That is where coaching creates transformation.
A powerful coach does not tell people what to do. They create a safe and trusting space where people can think more deeply, uncover new possibilities, and reconnect with their own wisdom.
Whether you want to create meaningful change in your own life, empower others through professional coaching, or develop a more human-centred leadership style, learning to coach can be life changing.
In this video, Jeanine shares the experience that first introduced her to coaching and how it transformed the way she sees herself, others, and leadership.
If you are curious about becoming an ICF-accredited coach or developing coaching skills that make a lasting difference, our next Coach Training and Leadership Programme opens soon.

One of the most powerful things a coach or leader can do when supporting and empowering someone is - holding space by being truly present.
This means not interrupting, assuming, formulating a question.
When silence falls after a question or a moment of reflection, the instinct for many - especially for new coaches - is to fill it: to clarify, rephrase, check in, move on.
Resist that instinct. Silence in a coaching conversation is not emptiness. It is the sound of thinking and reflection happening at a depth that words haven't yet reached.
When the person you are supporting looks away - at the floor, at the ceiling, into the middle distance - they are not disconnecting from you. They are going inward. They are turning the question over. They are feeling for the deeper truth. Something is very much happening.
Think of silence as the space between notes in a piece of music. It is not the absence of the melody - it is what gives the melody its meaning. A coaching conversation without silence is all notes and no music.
The pauses are where integration happens, where insight forms, where the thing the client didn't know they knew begins to surface.
Your job in those moments is not to conduct - it is simply to hold the space and remain present, unhurried, trusting the process. Your calm signals to the another's nervous system that there is no rush. That this is safe and whatever is emerging is welcome.
Yes, it can be uncomfortable - particularly when the silence stretches longer than feels socially normal. You may feel the pull to rescue the client from it, or worse, to rescue yourself. Notice that. Name it internally. And stay. Trust the person you are with: they are naturally creative, resourceful and whole, and they are doing the work.
And trust the process. Coaching is not always visible, and the most profound shifts sometimes happen in complete quiet. The silence is not yours to fill. It belongs to the person you trust and support.
And in it, something true is finding its way to the surface.

There are many people calling themselves coaches right now who havenโt completed professional coach training.
This matters - because without training, coaching is often mistaken for something it isnโt.
Coaching is not giving advice, brainstorming solutions, sharing expertise, suggesting what to do or asking leading questions based on their own knowledge and expertise.
These can be very helpful. But itโs not coaching.
When someone operates this way - the people they work with miss out on something far more powerful that professional coaching - done properly - makes possible.
Real coaching starts from a fundamentally different belief: The person in front of you is not broken. They are naturally creative, resourceful and whole.
The coach doesnโt give answers. The create the conditions - through deep listening, powerful questions, genuine presence and unconditional positive regard - for that person to find their own answer. And it sticks.โ
And it takes training to do it well and a rigorous process to become credentialed in having empowering and courageous conversations.
If you feel called to this work - whether as a professional coach, a leader who coaches, or someone who simply wants to have more powerful conversations - our ICF Approved Coach Training and Leadership Programme exists for exactly this reason.
