The Perseids phenomenon is one of the most well-known and anticipated meteor showers, captivating sky observers around the world every year. 🌠

Every year, the Perseids are visible from July 17th to August 24th, with their peak occurring on the night of August 12th to 13th. Today’s night! 🤩

The Perseids, are referred as "The Tears of St. Lawrence”. They are associated with the 109P Swift-Tuttle comet. Every year, Earth passes through the stream of dust and particles left behind by this comet, leading to a spectacular display in the sky.

The peak of the Perseids, the moment when the largest number of meteors can be observed, is a perfect opportunity to spend the night outdoors with family and friends.
During the peak, you can see as many as 100-120 meteors per hour! 

Here are some tips for observing the Perseids:

➡️ Choose a dark place away from artificial city lighting. The darker the sky, the more meteors you can see.
➡️ The Perseids can be observed with the naked eye. A telescope or binoculars are not needed.
➡️ Dedicate at least an hour to observation, as meteors appear at varying intervals.
➡️ Look to the northeast, in the direction of the Perseus constellation, from where the shower seems to emerge.
