The Pakistani government is planning to introduce new taxes in the 2025-26 budget. These taxes will include charges on the earnings of freelancers, vloggers, and YouTubers, and are expected to help raise about Rs500 to Rs600 billion more in revenue, according to a report by Topline Research.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is likely to get a tax collection target of Rs14.1 to Rs14.3 trillion, which is 16–18% higher than last year. This increase will mostly come from economic growth (3.6%) and inflation (7.7%).

To meet the rest of the target, the government plans to introduce new taxes. The budget will focus on expanding the tax net and boosting overall tax collection.
