Iris cyst —
1. An iris cyst is a benign fluid-filled lesion arising from the iris pigment epithelium or stroma.
2. It may be primary (congenital/acquired) or secondary (trauma, surgery, drugs).
3. Usually asymptomatic and detected incidentally on slit-lamp examination.
4. Large cysts can cause pupil distortion, secondary glaucoma, or visual symptoms.
5. Management is observation, with treatment (laser/surgery) only if complicated.
BPES – only in 5 lines..🙂
BPES is a congenital, autosomal dominant eyelid syndrome due to FOXL2 mutation.
Characterized by blepharophimosis, severe bilateral ptosis, epicanthus inversus, and telecanthus.
Ptosis is usually associated with poor levator function.
Stage 1 surgery: correction of telecanthus and epicanthus (medial canthoplasty).
Stage 2 surgery: ptosis correction, usually by frontalis sling.
