The River Ravi Commission was constituted by the Lahore High Court with the mission to propose a sustainable road map for the restoration of the natural ecology of the River Ravi. The River Ravi Commission was constituted vide Order dated 8 June 2012 of the Green Bench of the Lahore High Court passed in Writ Petition No. 9137 of 2012 (The Public Interest Litigation Association of Pakistan vs. The
WASA Lahore has moved to select a consultant to design the bioremediation plant as ordered by the Lahore High Court and proposed by the River Ravi Commission.
Kudos to the MD WASA for spearheading this initiative. The River Ravi Commission is a PIL prepared by students from Lahore University of Management Sciences and filed by PILAP.
