Why Programmed Trickle Charging in Wastronics UPS?
Trickle charging used in Wastronics UPS intelligently stabilizes the battery charging current irrespective of the Input Main (Wapda) Voltage and fluctuations. It detects the discharged battery voltage when Wapda power is restored, and regulators the charging current depends on the battery voltage at that time. It automatically increases or decreases the charging current in proportion to the load shedding duration and battery usage; it increases the charging current to bring up charge quicker in worst load shedding. When the battery voltage reaches at certain level, the current reduces automatically and only the trickle current (very small charging pulses) is maintained to keep the battery fully charged, maintaining its gravity. The trickle charge is approximately equal to (Battery Capacity)/100. This is how trickle charging enhance the battery life, maintaining its performance for years.
