The federal government is considering mandatory SECP registration for all housing and development companies as part of sweeping reforms aimed at formalizing Pakistan’s real estate sector. The proposal was discussed during a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, focusing on transparency, accountability, digitization, and investor protection. Authorities also reviewed plans for master town planning, one-window operations, and vertical urban development to control unplanned expansion in major cities. The reforms are expected to strengthen confidence among local and overseas investors.
