Pakistan’s Independence Day is observed annually on 14 August. It commemorates the day when Pakistan gained independence and was declared a sovereign state in 1947. The idea for a separate Muslim state in the northwest regions of South Asia was introduced in December 1930, which is historically referred to as the Two-Nation Theory. This gave rise to the Pakistan Movement, which aimed for the creation of an independent Muslim state. Hence, Pakistan came into existence on 14th August 1947.
