3) Advocate for efficient and dignified State services for r**e survivors (including police and medico-legal support) in Pakistan;
4) Research on national laws to determine their impact and policy/ procedural problems affecting women and child survivors of r**e in Pakistan;
5) Lobby for change in discriminatory policies/ working procedures and laws relating to sexual violence in Pakistan;
6) Network with other NGOs, government departments and agencies that have objectives similar to WAR;
7) Develop and continually improve an integrated legal support system that provides legal services that are responsive to the needs to r**e survivors, free of cost. Other services include, but are not limited to:
a. A confidential telephone service at which survivors could report and seek help;
b. Accompanying the survivor to the hospital, police station or court;
c. Explaining steps and procedures involved (medical, police and legal) in reporting cases of sexual violence, and answering questions that a survivor or the family might have;
d. Providing psychother**eutic assistance and if necessary, psychiatric intervention to survivors and families;
e. Information and referrals to lawyers, professional counsellors, psychotherapists, and health care professionals who are sensitive to the needs of survivors of sexual violence.
8) Liaise with media (print and electronic) for the purpose of highlighting case-related problems and gaps in State-sponsored services and for offering legal and sexual rights education to the general public.
