A while back, I had a conversation with a former colleague who held a senior position in our organization. During one of our training sessions, he expressed his perspective on women in the workplace. He mentioned that if it were solely up to him, he wouldn't hire women because he believed they should be shielded from the workplace and treated with utmost respect, akin to how he regards his own family members.

This conversation sparked two significant thoughts:

- His deep respect for women is commendable, and I don't pass judgment on his views.

- It made me ponder, why should a woman's career be compromised? Can't she pursue her professional goals without being typecast as a source of entertainment?

Why should any woman who maintains professionalism, dresses appropriately, and diligently fulfills her role be prevented from pursuing a career, especially when she's a vital contributor to her family's well-being?

From that day forward, I made a firm commitment to myself: regardless of challenges and opinions, I would not hinder my own growth. I would work diligently and intelligently, refusing to let anyone undermine my capabilities or dedication to my work. I've maintained the utmost professionalism and honesty, and today, I'm grateful for the path that Allah has laid before me. Alhamdulillah!
