Community Based-Disaster Risk Management Commettii Jageer Baseen Gilgit

*The Secretary Forest Gilgit-Baltistan, Syed Abdul Waheed Shah, visited Jageer Baseen upon the invitation of the local community.*

On this occasion, he received a warm welcome from the community members. Detailed discussions were held on forest conservation, afforestation, and the sustainable use of natural resources in the area. The Secretary appreciated the efforts of the local community and emphasized that effective forest protection is not possible without active community participation.

During the visit, key areas such as forest restoration, establishment of local nurseries, and raising environmental awareness among youth were also discussed. Furthermore, both sides agreed to strengthen the community-based conservation model to ensure long-term protection of natural resources in the region.

This visit is considered a significant step towards promoting environmental conservation and enhancing community engagement in the area.
