Election Commission issues NOC for PM Youth Laptop Scheme ceremony in Gilgit

Gilgit: The Election Commission Secretariat Gilgit-Baltistan has issued a No Objection Certificate for the PM Youth Laptop Scheme distribution ceremony scheduled to be held at Karakoram International University on May 7, 2026.

According to the official communication, the Prime Minister of Pakistan will attend the event as chief guest, however the approval has been granted subject to strict conditions to ensure compliance with election regulations.

The Election Commission has directed that no member of any political party contesting the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections 2026 shall attend or participate in the ceremony. The event must remain strictly non political in nature and must not be used for any political purpose.

It further stated that no political speeches, statements, or remarks highlighting any party, leadership, or electoral agenda will be allowed during the event. The laptop distribution must not be portrayed as a political campaign, achievement, or credited to any individual, political party, or government functionary.

Additionally, no announcements regarding new development schemes, projects, or policy initiatives will be made during the visit or the ceremony.

The NOC has been issued with the approval of the Chief Election Commissioner Gilgit-Baltistan.

گلگت: الیکشن کمیشن سیکرٹریٹ گلگت-بلتستان نے قراقرم انٹرنیشنل یونیورسٹی میں 7 مئی 2026 کو منعقد ہونے والی پی ایم یوتھ لیپ ٹاپ اسکیم کی تقسیم تقریب کے لیے باضابطہ این او سی جاری کر دیا ہے۔

جاری اعلامیے کے مطابق تقریب میں وزیراعظم پاکستان بطور مہمانِ خصوصی شرکت کریں گے، تاہم الیکشن کمیشن نے اس اجازت کو سخت شرائط سے مشروط کیا ہے۔

اعلامیے میں واضح کیا گیا ہے کہ تقریب کو مکمل طور پر غیر سیاسی رکھا جائے گا اور اسے کسی بھی سیاسی مقصد کے لیے استعمال نہیں کیا جا سکے گا۔

According to the data, registered male voters stand at 24,328 while female voters number 21,954, bringing the total voter count to 45,748 in the constituency ahead of the 2026 elections.

دیامر: حلقہ جی بی ایل اے 16 دیامر 2 کے انتخابی اعداد و شمار کے مطابق مجموعی طور پر 59 پولنگ اسٹیشنز قائم کیے گئے ہیں جن میں 28 مردانہ، 27 زنانہ اور 4 مشترکہ پولنگ اسٹیشن شامل ہیں۔

ووٹرز کی تفصیل کے مطابق مرد ووٹرز کی تعداد 24 ہزار 328 جبکہ خواتین ووٹرز کی تعداد 21 ہزار 954 ہے، اس طرح مجموعی ووٹرز کی تعداد 45 ہزار 748 بنتی ہے۔ یہ اعداد و شمار آئندہ انتخابات 2026 کے تناظر میں اہمیت کے حامل ہیں، جہاں میڈیا لینز کے مطابق انتخابی سرگرمیاں تیزی سے جاری ہیں۔

Chilas: Acting on reports of alleged severe physical abuse of a minor student at a madrassa in the old bazaar area of Chilas, Diamer Police responded promptly, shifting the affected child to a hospital for medical examination.

The suspect, a Qari resident of Thor, has been arrested, and an FIR No. 44/2026 has been registered at City Police Station Chilas under sections 328-A and 337-A(ii) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Authorities said a thorough investigation is underway to ensure justice for the child. According to the Gilgit-Baltistan Police spokesperson, the case is being pursued with full diligence.
