Zaffar Muhammad Shadamkhel, the former Coordinator to the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), was attacked by unknown people in Jutial, Gilgit on Friday at Midnight.

Zaffar Muhammad told Startup Gilgit Baltistan that he was suddenly attacked by several people with sticks who were sent by a government officer. The attackers also took his mobile phone and money.

The PTI GB has condemned the attack and has urged the police to take strict action and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice. “This is a cowardly act and an attempt to silence the voice of dissent,” said PTI GB “We will not be cowed down by such tactics and will continue to fight for the rights of the people of GB.”
The police have registered a case against the attackers and are investigating the matter.
The attack on Zaffar Muhammad has sparked outrage in GB and has been condemned by political parties and civil society groups. The incident has also raised concerns about the safety of political workers in the region.
