1. Turn ChatGPT into your job interview trainer

Prompt: I’d like you to act and respond as my Expert Job Interview Coach. I’m going to provide you with information in the form of my resume, my LinkedIn profile, as well as job descriptions for the jobs that I’m looking for. I’d then like your help coaching me to be prepared for my upcoming job interview.

2. Turn ChatGPT into your tutor

Prompt: You are an upbeat, encouraging tutor who helps students understand concepts by explaining ideas and asking students questions. Here lies every graphic designer who said,
"I’ll finish my portfolio this weekend." 💀

Let’s be real - designing for yourself is 10x harder than designing for clients.
You nitpick every pixel, question every font, obsess over layouts…
And even then, impostor syndrome sneaks in.
But here’s the truth:
Your portfolio doesn’t need to be perfect.
It just needs to be published.
✅ Start small
✅ Treat it like any client project
✅ Iterate, evolve, refine
Done is better than perfect.
Hit publish. Show your work. Let it grow. 🎨✨

This picture is an illustration of a Maneki-Neko, commonly known as a “beckoning cat” or “lucky cat.” It is a traditional Japanese figurine believed to bring good luck, fortune, and prosperity to its owner.

Key Features and Their Meanings:
Smiling Cat Face: The cat’s gentle smile and closed, crescent-shaped eyes symbolize peace, friendliness, and welcoming energy.

Raised Left Paw: Traditionally, a raised left paw is believed to attract customers or people, often used in businesses.

Golden Coin: The coin is a Koban, a symbol of wealth. The characters on it (招福) mean “inviting good fortune” or “bringing blessings.”

Red Collar and Bell: This is a classic design element. The bell wards off evil spirits, and the red color is seen as protective.

Golden-Yellow Background: Gold is often used to symbolize wealth and abundance, enhancing the luck-bringing aura of the image.

Symbolism:
This image is designed to act as a visual charm. You mentioned wanting a cat whose eyes give positive energy—while the eyes are closed in this image, the overall expression and symbolism are intentionally uplifting and meant to spark joy, peace, and a sense of energetic positivity whenever you look at it.

The Hard Truth No One Tells You...

Upwork isn’t about “hustling harder”—it’s about working smarter.

I have spent weeks studying Upwork, reading success stories, analyzing profiles, and yes, making a few mistakes along the way. If you are new or struggling on the platform, let me save you the heartache. Here are critical mistakes you MUST avoid:

❌ Applying to Every Job in Sight
Spamming proposals won’t work. Clients spot generic applications instantly. Instead:
- Focus on jobs that match your skills.
- Personalize each proposal—mention the client’s name and project details.

❌ Ignoring Your Profile’s First Impression
Your profile is your storefront. If it’s weak, clients won’t trust you. Fix this by:
- Writing a clear, benefit-driven title (Not "Freelancer" but "SEO Specialist Helping Brands Rank #1").
- Adding a professional photo & portfolio samples.

❌ Bidding Too Low to “Get Noticed”
Underselling attracts cheap clients who expect miracles. Value your skills. Start with competitive rates, then adjust as you gain reviews.

❌ Skipping the Cover Letter
A lazy "Hi, I’m interested" won’t cut it. Instead:
- Hook them in the first line (e.g., “I noticed your landing page needs higher conversions—here’s how I can help”).
- Keep it concise, client-focused, and proofread!

❌ Not Tracking Proposals
If you’re not tracking which proposals get replies, you’re missing key insights. Use a simple spreadsheet to refine your approach.

Here's my final thought:

Upwork rewards strategy, not desperation. Avoid these mistakes, stay persistent, and the right clients will notice you.

I will be going deeper with more hard-hitting lessons in my next posts, watch out.

What lessons have you learned? Drop them below—let’s help each other win! 🚀

I pray that the silence turns into interviews.

I pray that the rejections lead you to the right opportunity.

I pray that doors open that were once closed in your face.

I pray that your confidence is restored and your faith is strengthened.

I pray that the no’s start making sense when you finally get your yes.

I pray that bills are paid, needs are met, and peace fills your mind while you wait.

I pray that you don’t lose hope in the in-between.

I pray that God reminds you this season is not your final destination.

I pray that breakthrough shows up when you least expect it.

And I pray that you hold on just a little while longer.

Because your story isn’t over. It’s just getting good.

Getting six figure jobs is not about being the smartest,
It’s about being the most prepared:

✅ Application Strategy:

Customize your resume for every role

Cut out outdated skills and experiences

List jobs in order to show progress

Use keywords from the job post

🔧 Pro Tip: Use tools like Teal’s Resume Builder to match your resume with job descriptions.

✅ Do Your Research:

Check out the company’s website, socials, and recent news

Look up your interviewer’s LinkedIn

Explore forums and reviews

✅ Be Ready with Stories:

Talk about your top 2–3 strengths

Share a story about a failure and what you learned

Back it up with real results or data

2️⃣ During the Interview
You get one shot—make it count.

✅ Answer Like a Pro:
Use the CAR method:

Challenge you faced

Action you took

Results you achieved

3️⃣ After the Interview
This is where many people lose the offer.

✅ Follow-Up:

Send a thank-you email within 24 hours

Keep it short, professional, and upbeat

✅ Negotiate Smart:

Don’t accept the first offer

Know the full compensation: salary, benefits, bonuses

Be ready to walk away

Always have backup options

📌 Final Reminder:
It’s not about perfection—it’s about preparation.
While others guess, you follow a system.
