PNP, PDEA SEIZE ₱48M SHABU; 3 HIGH-VALUE INDIVIDUALS ARRESTED IN ZAMBOANGA BUY-BUST

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, successfully conducted a buy-bust operation at around 5:35 PM on April 17, 2026 in Zone 5, Brgy. Divisoria, Zamboanga City, resulting in the arrest of three high-value drug personalities and the confiscation of a large volume of suspected shabu.

Joint operatives from Police Station 4, City Intelligence Unit, and City Intelligence Division Management Unit of Zamboanga City Police Office, together with Regional Intelligence Division 9, S2 of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9, 1st Special Operations Unit of PNP Maritime Group, and PDEA Regional Office 9, implemented the operation that yielded approximately 7,000 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of ₱47,600,000.00. The illegal drugs, along with buy-bust money and other non-drug items, were recovered at the scene of the transaction. The arrested individuals are now under the custody of Police Station 4, Zamboanga CPO for proper documentation and filing of charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165.

The operation reflects the PNP Focused Agenda—an operational framework of transformation designed to make police service more responsive, disciplined, and results-oriented—with its key priority on Enhanced Managing Police Operations, particularly through sustained intelligence-driven operations that effectively target high-value drug personalities and dismantle illegal drug supply chains.

PNP Chief PGEN Nartatez said, “We will continue to intensify our operations against individuals who persist in engaging in illegal drug trade. They will face the full force of the law.”

As the PNP intensifies its anti-illegal drug operations nationwide under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it continues to assure the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.”

PNP INTENSIFIES CYBER OPS; 6 SUSPECTS COLLARED IN FAKE DENTISTRY SCHEME

The Philippine National Police arrested six (6) individuals in separate entrapment operations across Ormoc City, Catanduanes, Iloilo City, and Zamboanga City for allegedly offering unauthorized dental services online, in a nationwide drive to curb misleading cyber-enabled practices and protect public health.

In Ormoc City, Leyte, operatives of the Ormoc City Cyber Response Team arrested three suspects identified by their aliases “Debbie,” 36; “Sara,” 24; and “Jamal,” 32, following operations conducted on April 7 and April 11, 2026.

In Catanduanes, a 35-year-old male alias “Leo” was arrested in Virac on April 7, 2026. In Iloilo City, a 21-year-old female alias “Lourdes” was apprehended in Jaro on April 10, 2026, while in Zamboanga City, a 22-year-old male alias “Godoy” was likewise arrested on the same day.

All suspects will face charges for violation of Section 33(a) of Republic Act 9484 or the Philippine Dental Act of 2007, in relation to Section 6 of Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., said these coordinated operations reflect the organization’s sustained effort under the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, in support of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to further strengthen safer cities through proactive law enforcement.

“We are continuously warning the public against online individuals who offer services beyond their professional authority.

He also reminded the public of their role in supporting law enforcement efforts.

The PNP reaffirmed its commitment to intensify cyber operations and strengthen community protection measures, as it advances the vision of a more responsive police force under “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”
