Here are 7 things you will realise once you start track
1️⃣ Your “street fast” is actually “track slow”
The very first time you hit the track you will realise how slow you really are when the tarmac is wide open. You will not know where to look, what to look for, when to brake, when to gas. Basically you will learn to ride again. Welcome to the better side.
2️⃣ Shattered Ego
Yes, completely shattered. Mine was too. You will see a rider zoom past you just when you think you are pushing it to the max. This is important on how you take it. Suck it up. Work on yourself. The right way. Don’t push till you don’t know how. Focus on basics
3️⃣ Horsepower games
More horses doesn’t mean you are fast. Don’t be surprised if passed by a smaller bike. He/she was in your place too once. This takes practice to tame the horses under your…🍑
4️⃣ Fitness matters more than horsepower
You could spend hours on a road trip. A 20 minute session at the track? I’m almost sure it’ll break you. It’s about endurance. Get ready to sweat.
5️⃣ Bike Behaviour
She will behave different on the track at lower tyre pressures. Turns in quicker, she will start demanding more. It’s intimidating in the beginning. You will start understanding the importance of suspensions finally.
6️⃣ Vision: You go where you look
You will 💩 your pants the first time you hit the gravel trap. Don’t worry. You are alright. Lesson? You looked there. Look where you want to go.
7️⃣ Smooth is fast, jerky is scary
Remember this when you hit your first track day. But DO NOT forget to enjoy!!!
