In times of uncertainty and hardship, the strength of a community is measured by its willingness to help those in need. As many families and communities in Mindanao continue to recover from the devastating effects of the recent earthquake, 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗞 remains committed to extending support and assistance to those affected.

We would like to inform everyone that our 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡. We continue to accept monetary donations, relief goods, and other forms of support that can help provide immediate aid and comfort to our fellow Filipinos who are facing the challenges brought by this disaster.

The recent 𝟳.𝟴 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 has left thousands of our fellow Filipinos displaced, injured, and devastated. In response, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗸 of LEAD Philippines, in collaboration with Siklab Earth Initiative and Galing Kabaataan PH, launches a humanitarian donation drive to provide immediate assistance to affected communities and families.

Not everyone celebrates Pride Month beneath rainbow banners, in crowded parades, or through public declarations of identity.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.

They do so through private acts of self-acceptance, quiet conversations with trusted friends, and the daily courage of carrying a truth they are not yet ready—or safe enough—to reveal.

For many members of the LGBTQ+ community, the journey toward authenticity is not a straight path toward visibility. It is often a careful negotiation between identity and survival, acceptance and rejection, hope and fear.

Like a pagong retreating into its shell, many choose to remain hidden. Not because they are ashamed of who they are, but because the world around them may not yet feel safe.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥, after all, 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐬𝐲𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬.

𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Society often celebrates stories of coming out as milestones of bravery. While these stories deserve recognition, they can unintentionally overshadow those who remain unseen. In homes where acceptance is uncertain, in schools where discrimination persists, or in communities where prejudice still exists, concealment becomes less of a choice and more of a necessity.

For some, revealing their identity could mean losing family support. For others, it could result in ridicule, exclusion, or even threats to their safety. Under such circumstances, hiding is not cowardice—it is self-preservation.

Yet social media has complicated this reality.

Every June, timelines become flooded with rainbow-colored celebrations, coming-out stories, and messages encouraging people to live openly. While these expressions are valuable symbols of progress, they can also create an invisible pressure for those who are still struggling.

The message often feels unspoken but powerful: if you are not out, you are not being true to yourself.

But 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲.

A person does not become more valid because others know their identity. The truth remains true, whether it is spoken aloud or carried quietly within.

This is particularly important for young people navigating questions of identity in a world that constantly demands certainty. In a culture where social media amplifies idealized lives and personal milestones, remaining hidden can feel like being left behind.

Yet 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲.

There is no timeline that determines when someone must come out. Growth happens differently for everyone. Some find acceptance early. Others take years. Both journeys are equally worthy of respect.

Pride Month, at its heart, is not only a celebration of visibility. It is also 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.

It honors those who march openly and those who remain unseen. It celebrates voices raised in protest and those whispered in quiet hope. It belongs not only to those who have found acceptance, but also to those still searching for it.

To every person who feels like a pagong ng pagtatago this Pride Month, your story is not unfinished because it is hidden.

In light of the recent earthquake that affected communities across Mindanao, 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀, reaffirms its commitment to standing with affected individuals and families through 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗞, an emergency donation drive dedicated to supporting relief and recovery efforts. 🙌

Through this initiative, we seek to inspire 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 as communities work toward recovery and rebuilding. We invite our members, partners, and the public to read our official statement and learn how they can take part in this humanitarian initiative. 🤍

‎When we hear the word 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞, we often picture 𝙫𝙞𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙗𝙤𝙬 𝙛𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙨 waving proudly in the air. But Pride is more than a rainbow—it is a celebration of 𝘥𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴, and 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴, each represented by colors that tell their own 𝔘𝔫𝔦𝔮𝔲𝔢 𝔰𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔶.
