It has been 40 years since the first EDSA People Power Revolution, 480 months since the Filipino people overthrew the Marcos regime, and 14,610 days since people from all walks of life stood united against tyranny and dictatorship in the Philippines.
But the battle is not over. Today the Filipinos still face the same incessant battle of corruption, injustice, and unaccountability.
How many more hours will we let those in power starve the poor for their luxury?
How many more minutes shall we desecrate the victims and those who fought against the same beast of greed and authoritarianism?
Because every second counts in this war against abuses of power, fraud, and moral depravity in the Philippine governance.
For every second justice is delayed, justice is denied.
And with every second that passes, the Filipinos forget more and more to the benefit of those who rely on their evil deeds to be forgotten so that one day they may again rise to power.
It is then up to us to pay it forward and keep remembering.
