ough to, say, do 12 singles average per album to the point of consistency. Surprisingly, there is such a band in the 90's although not a part of the first wave of the band onslaught who has consistently kept the knack for creating that distinct totally OPM sound without the benefit of collaboration. English lyrics or even accepted a contribution or two to their albums from outside whatsoever. Impressively, this band started out with just one single in a hodge-podge collection of morsels in one CD compilation, Not bad for a band whose main motivation for plunging into the music scene is to make the world a better place by inspiring everyone with their music, lyrics and a whole lot of POSITIVITY. All it took was one single called Lakas Tama to jumpstart the career of the band that calls itself SIAKOL. In Filipino vernacular the term simply means a' free, happy, and naughty state of mind'. And true to form, the band exemplified the ideal. From Lakas Tama the group cemented its claim to fame with more hit morsels the likes of Bakit Ba, Peksman, Lagim, Ituloy Mo Lang, Hagupit, Yakap, Rekta, Iniwan Mo Akong Nag-iisa and more. Just a taste of what Siakol is all about but barely touching the tip of the Siakol iceberg, so to speak. The Siakol repertoire for one doesn't talk about just one single topic. As a close friend of the band reveals, Siakol's main man, writer/composer Noel Palomo is like a sponge who takes everything in as he sees and experiences it. The man basically is a music making machine, making everything of his waking and sleeping time a composer's paradise. Not that he doesn't sleep of course. It's just how he is. And with the support of his bandmates and long time friends Miniong Cervantes, Wowie Flores, and former Grin Departamento na ngayon ay Siakolero drummer Peter Plazon, the band is off to prove again that it is still the band to beat... post Tropa album. Officially, Siakol is on its way to creating their 9th album after the very successful Tropa. And what better timing than to have it on their 20th anniversary in the music business which they already celebrated months back. And with Noel Palomo at the helm and providing music ammunitions, there's no way but up again for Siakol!
