Please be advised that a circulating online event scheduled on December 28-30 is not organized or sanctioned by Jourknows.

We deny involvement in this activity and we condemn the use of our name and logo without legitimate authority.

We have already reached out to SWEEP, the organization behind the online event but they refused to take down the post as of posting.

While we admire SWEEP's objective in this event, we also believe that they can successfully conduct it without using our organization's name. We wish them well in their event but will continue to call out their attempt to disguise the event as ours.

Jourknows is an organization managed by selected administrators of Campus Journalists Ako (CJA), the largest online community of campus journalists and school publication advisers in the Philippines. We will continue with our mission to promote free and open campus journalism despite the challenges posed by this pandemic.

We advise our community to get reliable information about our event directly from our official Facebook account.

The Ditto Sarmiento Journalism Cup will hold a Special Features Press Conference with Sorsogon Governor FLC Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero and Ms. Love Marie Escudero featuring Sorsogon Culture and Tourism . The event will be on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 5 PM via Zoom, and will be streamed via Facebook Live.

This special features press conference is NOT INCLUDED in the battery tests for the participants of the Ditto Sarmiento Nationwide Search for Ten Outstanding Young Journalists (TOYJ). The feature writing contest is open to all interested high school and college students and cash prizes of PHP 3,000, 2000, and 1,000 will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placers respectively. Details on registration and submission will be posted after the press conference.

FLC Francis Chiz Escudero AΦB 1990 is the incumbent Governor of the Province of Sorsogon and a former Philippine Senator from 2007 to 2019. He also served as the representative of the 1st District of Sorsogon from 1998 to 2007 becoming the House Minority Leader from 2004-2007.

He is joined by Love Marie Escudero famously known as Heart Evangelista, a Filipina actress, social media influencer, and the current first lady of the Province of Sorsogon.
