Your Facebook advertising campaign is succeeding well. It generates revenue, and you are profitable.

You noticed there is a typographical error in your ad.

You then make a decision to edit. Then your ad set returns to the learning phase, everything falls apart. ๐Ÿคฏ

I got this question from a friend recently, and I would like to share the same with you.

As much as possible, you ๐’๐‡๐Ž๐”๐‹๐ƒ ๐๐Ž๐“ edit your ads, ad sets, or campaigns, as this will reset your learning phase.

But what is actually considered an edit?

Facebook classifies almost all modifications you make to your ads, ad sets, or campaigns as "๐’๐ข๐ ๐ง๐ข๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ง๐ญ ๐ž๐๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ"; these are adjustments that start the learning phase of the ad set from scratch.

This occurs because these kinds of adjustments drastically alter the algorithm, adding additional factors for Facebook to take into account and ultimately altering the algorithm's course. The learning on these ads, ad sets, and campaigns is restarted as a result.

This happens only if your edit falls under Significant Edits.

๐‡๐จ๐ฐ ๐œ๐š๐ง ๐ˆ ๐ค๐ž๐ž๐ฉ ๐ข๐ง ๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฐ๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐š ๐’๐ข๐ ๐ง๐ข๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ง๐ญ ๐„๐๐ข๐ญ ๐ข๐ฌ?

Ask yourself, "Will this edit impact ๐ฐ๐ก๐ž๐ง (schedule) my ads are displayed, ๐ฐ๐ก๐จ๐ฆ they are shown to (audience/placements), or ๐ฐ๐ก๐š๐ญ they will display (Creative)?โ€ when determining whether an edit will restart the learning phase.

If any of those apply to your edit, Facebook will classify it as a Significant Edit, so try to stay clear of it.

I created a column below that you can save where I classified whether an edit is considered a ๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง๐ข๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐ซ ๐ง๐จ๐ง-๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง๐ข๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ง๐ญ ๐ž๐๐ข๐ญ.

This implies that you can make those edits at any moment without risk to the learning phase.
