Today, February 18, 2026, the La Salette of Cabatuan school community gathered at the school gymnasium for the solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist in observance of Ash Wednesday. The Mass was presided over by our School Director, Rev. Fr. Manuel R. Medina, MS, who led students, faculty, staff, and administrators in welcoming the Lenten season with prayer and reflection.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a sacred season in the Catholic Church dedicated to repentance, renewal, and preparation for Easter. In his homily, Fr. Medina emphasized the deeper meaning of the three pillars of Lent: prayer, almsgiving, and fasting.
He spoke about the significance of prayer in our daily lives, reminding everyone that prayer is not merely a routine but a personal encounter with God. He encouraged the community to cultivate a sincere and faithful prayer life, especially during Lent, as a way of strengthening oneโs relationship with the Lord and seeking spiritual guidance.
Fr. Medina also highlighted the importance of almsgiving, calling it an act of love and compassion. He reminded the faithful that sharing what we haveโwhether time, talent, or treasureโis a concrete way of living out Christโs commandment to love one another. Almsgiving, he explained, allows us to become instruments of Godโs mercy to those in need.
On fasting, he clarified that it is not simply about abstaining from food, but about practicing self-discipline and sacrifice. True fasting, he said, should lead to inner conversionโturning away from sin and growing in virtue. By offering small sacrifices, we learn to rely more on God and less on worldly comforts.
The celebration of the Holy Mass was followed by the praying of the Holy Rosary, uniting the entire school community in honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary and entrusting their Lenten journey to her guidance.
Through this meaningful celebration, La Salette of Cabatuan once again affirmed its commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also the spiritual growth of its community, as they begin the season of Lent with faith and renewed devotion.

La Salette of Cabatuan welcomed the Advent season on November 30, 2025, with the heartfelt Blessing of Lanternsโa simple yet meaningful gathering that brought the whole school community together. Pupils, students, faculty, and staff all shared in the warmth of preparing and lighting the parols that now brighten the front of the school.
The celebration began with the blessing of the lanterns and the Advent wreath by Fr. Joel Dela Cruz, our school chaplain. He reminded everyone that these lights are more than decorationsโthey are symbols of hope, faith, and the light of Christ that guides us through every season of our lives.
As the lanterns were being installed, everyone worked hand in handโstudents lifting, teachers guiding, staff assistingโshowing what it truly means to live out La Saletteโs core values of solidarity and stewardship. Each lantern put up together became a reminder that when the Salettinian family stands as one, our light shines brighter.
Adding to the joy, the Drum and Lyre ensemble performed lively pieces that welcomed the Advent season with music and celebration. Their rhythm and energy brought excitement to the moment, making the installation feel even more festive and meaningful.
The entire community together at St. Andrew Parish Church to attend Mass presided over by Fr. Joel Dela Cruz. Gathering again in prayer completed the day with gratitude, unity, and renewed faith. La Salette of Cabatuan extends its appreciation to everyone who took part in this meaningful event. Moments like this remind us that our strength as a community comes from working together, supporting one another, and keeping our faith shiningโespecially as we welcome the season of hope.

๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐๐ฒ, ๐๐๐ข๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐ฐ!
On December 1st, we celebrated a special Mass in honor of St. Andrew the Apostleโthe first disciple called by Jesus. A fisherman turned missionary, he devoted his life to leading others to Christ, beginning with his brother, St. Peter, who would later lay the foundation of the Catholic Church as the first pope.
The students of La Salette of Cabatuan participated in the Massโpresided over by Rev. Fr. Ian Kenneth Mamauag, with several other priests in attendanceโas true reflections of the Churchโs values, carrying themselves with discipline and joining wholeheartedly in the responses and songs, their unity in prayer bringing a sincere and uplifting spirit to the entire celebration.
As we strive to follow St. Andrewโs example of faith, we are reminded by Rev. Fr. Ian in his homily that to draw others closer to Christ, we must first draw near to Him ourselves. May this message inspire us to deepen our own relationship with God and, in turn, lead others toward His love.

On November 30, 2025, the community of St. Andrew Parish Church came together to celebrate the start of the Advent season. The mass was presided by Father Joel Dela Cruz, MS, who welcomed the parishioners with warmth and encouragement as the new liturgical season began.
Advent marks the beginning of the Churchโs preparation for Christmas. In his homily, Father Joel explained that Advent is a time of waiting, reflection, and hope. He reminded the people to prepare not only their homes, but also their hearts, for the coming of Jesus. He encouraged everyone to slow down, stay prayerful, and show kindness in everyday lifeโespecially during busy moments.
The mass carried a calm and meaningful atmosphere, with simple but heartfelt songs and prayers. Father Joel also reminded everyone to look back on the blessings they received during the year and to trust in Godโs guidance as they move forward.
Before the mass concluded, Father Joel offered a special blessing for all families, students, and community members, praying for strength, peace, and deeper faith during the Advent season.
