Healing and Anito

Macaniao Integrated School Dancers proudly presented a powerful performance portraying HEALING AND ANITO inspired by the traditions of the Gaddang people. HEALING is a sacred practice that goes beyond physical treatment, involving rituals, herbal medicine, and spiritual guidance from community healers to restore balance between the body, mind, and spirit. ANITO, on the other hand, refers to ancestral spirits believed to watch over, guide, and protect the living; they are honored through prayers, offerings, and rituals, as the Gaddang believe these spirits play a vital role in maintaining harmony, protection, and wellbeing within the community.

Through the powerful and expressive dance performance, the dancers were able to vividly portray these sacred traditions with respect and authenticity, giving justice to the cultural depth and spiritual meaning of Healing and Anito. Their movements, energy, and storytelling brought the heritage of the Gaddang to life, honoring the tradition and leaving a lasting impression of cultural pride and reverence.

Puno iti kagalakan ti puso ko iti makitana ti panagkaykaysa ken panagtitinulong ti tunggal maysa. Mabuhay po ang Macaniao Integrated School, mabuhay po tayong lahat”

These were the words of our School Principal, Cecille J. Rosales, expressing her heartfelt appreciation to the internal and external stakeholders of Macaniao Integrated School for their commitment and unwavering support in the concreting of the school pathway.
