A little reminder, brothers and sisters,

Service does not end only during HOLY Week. Rather, a true Servant does not choose any occasion in the Church

Why the Church Has Seasons

Have you ever wondered why the Catholic Church has seasons? From the earliest centuries, the Church has organized time in a sacred way to help the faithful live out their faith more deeply. Instead of following time only as ordinary days and months, the Church uses seasons to give meaning and direction to Christian life.

Liturgical seasons such as Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter were formed to guide Catholics through the story of salvation. These seasons allow believers to walk with Christ through His life, death, and resurrection, not just as past events, but as living realities that shape faith and daily life.

Each season has its own purpose and spiritual focus. Advent teaches waiting and hope, Lent calls for repentance and renewal, Christmas celebrates the mystery of God becoming man, and Easter proclaims Christ’s victory over sin and death. Through these seasons, the Church gently teaches different virtues at the right time.

Through this sacred rhythm, time itself becomes a teacher of faith. Year after year, Catholics are invited to grow, reflect, and deepen their relationship with God. The seasons remind the faithful that faith is a journey, guided by the Church through the life of Christ

I’ve heard many comments like:
“What’s the use of that roof in front of the church when we still get wet even if we take shelter there?”

HERES THE ANSWER.

Long ago, there was a Church tradition of perfuming pilgrims who were doing the Camino. Back then, pilgrims would go many days on the Camino without bathing. Of course, since they couldn’t bathe, they would smell. That is the purpose of what you see in front of the church, to perfume the pilgrims who walked the Camino.
That structure is called the Paseo de Santiago, which means pathway or gateway. This is where those walking the Camino de Santiago pass so they can be perfumed by the large incense burner called the Botafumeiro.
“BOTA” means to swing, and "FUMIERO” means smoke or INCENSE/PERFUME
I hope I was able to answer some of your questions.
A reminder for those who don’t know: the Paseo de Santiago was not made to serve as a shelter for parishioners or visitors. It was built for traditional reasons. Let us be informed in our parish so we don’t spread misunderstandings.
Praise be to God!

GOD WILL PROVIDE...TODAY, TOMORROW, FOREVER.

His love and help are constant, even when we face difficulties. We are called to have faith and rely on His goodness, knowing that He cares for us and will give us what we need in His perfect time. This trust helps us stay hopeful and grateful, knowing we are never alone because God's support is always with us.

Sa bawat pagkakamali....
Dito tayo lumalago at natututo..🫶

"For once an altar server, an altar server forever."
