The Baptist Confession
Of God's decree

God hath decreed in himself, from all eternity, by the most wise and holy counsel of his own will, freely and unchangeably, all things, whatsoever comes to pass; yet so as thereby is God neither the author of sin nor hath fellowship with any therein; nor is violence offered to the will of the creature, nor yet is the liberty or contingency of second causes taken away, but rather established; in which appears his wisdom in disposing all things, and power and faithfulness in accomplishing his decree.

Although God knoweth whatsoever may or can come to pass, upon all supposed conditions, yet hath he not decreed anything, because he foresaw it as future, or as that which would come to pass upon such conditions.

By the decree of God, for the manifestation of his glory, some men and angels are predestinated, or foreordained to eternal life through Jesus Christ, to the praise of his glorious grace; others being left to act in their sin to their just condemnation, to the praise of his glorious justice.

The Baptist Confession

Of the Holy Scriptures

The Holy Scripture is the only sufficient, certain, and infallible rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience, although the light of nature, and the works of creation and providence do so far manifest the goodness, wisdom, and power of God, as to leave men inexcusable; yet are they not sufficient to give that knowledge of God and his will which is necessary unto salvation. Therefore it pleased the Lord at sundry times and in divers manners to reveal himself, and to declare that his will unto his church; and afterward for the better preserving and propagating of the truth, and for the more sure establishment and comfort of the church against the corruption of the flesh, and the malice of Satan, and of the world, to commit the same wholly unto writing; which maketh the Holy Scriptures to be most necessary, those former ways of God's revealing his will unto his people being now ceased.

*Footnotes
1."The Holy Scripture is the only sufficient, certain, and infallible rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience,": This establishes Sola Scriptura: the Bible is the sole, complete, and error-free authority for all Christian faith and life.

2. "although the light of nature, and the works of creation and providence do so far manifest the goodness, wisdom, and power of God, as to leave men inexcusable;": General revelation clearly displays God's power and glory in creation, rendering humanity inexcusable for ignorance (Romans 1:19-20).

3. "yet are they not sufficient to give that knowledge of God and his will which is necessary unto salvation.": General revelation is insufficient for salvation; it lacks the specific redemptive truths found only in special revelation.

4. "Therefore it pleased the Lord at sundry times and in divers manners to reveal himself, and to declare that his will unto his church;": God purposefully revealed Himself and His will through various supernatural means throughout history (Hebrews 1:1-2).

5. "and afterward for the better preserving and propagating of the truth, and for the more sure establishment and comfort of the church against the corruption of the flesh, and the malice of Satan, and of the world, to commit the same wholly unto writing;": God committed His truth to writing for its preservation, propagation, and to fortify the church against sin, Satan, and the world.

6. "which maketh the Holy Scriptures to be most necessary, those former ways of God's revealing his will unto his people being now ceased.": The Holy Scriptures are absolutely necessary because all prior forms of God's direct revelation have now ceased. The Bible is God's final and complete Word.

"Our most joyful exuberance is meaningless apart from the regeneration brought about by grace through faith in Christ alone." -

My faith is only as good as God graciously holds on to me.

The only Gospel that should be resonated is
Salvation solely through the redemptive work of the Biblical Jesus (Yeshua). Every other gospel is either false or futile. No other name, no other savior.

Knowing God without showing it through what we say, think, and do just makes us think more highly of ourselves.
