𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝘆𝗼𝘀, 𝗧𝗮𝘁𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮

Isa sa mga pinakamalalim ngunit pinakamatamis na katotohanan ng ating pananampalataya ay ito: Mayroon lamang isang Diyos, ngunit Siya ay tatlong Persona — ang Ama, ang Anak, at ang Espiritu Santo.

Bagama’t hindi direktang lumalabas ang salitang “Trinity” sa Biblia, makikita natin ang kapangyarihan at pagkakaisa ng Tatlong Persona sa buong kasaysayan ng kaligtasan. Ang Diyos ay hindi nag-iisa sa Kanyang pag-iral — Siya ay komunidad ng pag-ibig, at tayo ay inanyayahang makibahagi sa pag-ibig na iyon.

Sa Article of Faith I ng Church of the Nazarene Manual, nakasaad:

Ibig sabihin: Ang Trinidad ay hindi simpleng ideya. Ito ang puso ng ating pananampalataya — isang Diyos na lumilikha, nagliligtas, at nagpapabanal.

𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗱 𝘀𝗮 𝗕𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗮

Bagama’t hindi direktang lumalabas ang salitang “Trinity” sa Biblia, ang konsepto nito ay malinaw na ipinakita sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng Kasulatan:

Ang Espiritu ay hindi ibang Diyos kundi mismong presensiya ng Ama at Anak na kumikilos sa mga mananampalataya.

Ang Diyos Ama ay pinagmulan ng lahat ng kabutihan at buhay. Siya ang nagplano ng ating pag-iral at patuloy na gumagabay sa atin tulad ng isang mapagmahal na magulang.

Kapag tayo’y naliligaw, Siya ang nagbabalik. Sa bawat umaga, maririnig natin ang paanyaya Niya: “Anak, magtiwala ka. Mahal kita.”

✝️ 𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗸 — 𝗧𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗴𝘁𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘄𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻

Ang Anak, si Jesucristo, ang katawang-tao ng pag-ibig ng Diyos. Siya ang nagligtas at nagturo kung paano mamuhay ng banal.

Ang Espiritu Santo ay ang presensiya ng Diyos sa loob natin. Siya ang nagbibigay-lakas, liwanag, at direksyon sa ating pang-araw-araw na pamumuhay.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” — Acts 1:8 (ESV)

Siya ang bumubulong kapag tayo’y pagod: “Hindi ka nag-iisa.”
Siya ang nagbibigay ng tapang upang mamuhay sa katotohanan at kabanalan.

𝗕𝘂𝗵𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗱

Kapag tayo’y nagdadasal, nakikipag-usap tayo sa Ama sa pangalan ng Anak, sa tulong ng Espiritu.
Kapag tayo’y naglilingkod, ginagawa natin ito kasama ang lakas ng Espiritu, sa halimbawa ni Cristo, para sa kaluwalhatian ng Ama.

Ang ating pananampalataya ay lumalalim hindi lamang sa pag-intindi sa Trinidad, kundi sa pamumuhay sa presensiya Niyang Tatlong Persona ngunit iisa sa diwa.
Ito ang buhay na Trinitarian — isang pamumuhay ng pag-ibig, pagkakaisa, at kabanalan.

Passion fuels service. The Apostle Paul reminds believers that our devotion to God should never grow cold. Serving the Lord is not meant to be done halfheartedly, but with energy, enthusiasm, and purpose. True service flows from a heart that burns with love for Christ — a love that motivates us to keep giving, even when the road becomes difficult.

There are times when our spiritual passion fades. We grow tired, discouraged, or distracted. But Paul’s words call us back to the source of our zeal — the presence of God Himself. Our passion for service is not sustained by emotion or recognition, but by a living relationship with Jesus. When we draw near to Him in prayer and worship, our hearts are rekindled with fresh fire to serve.

Serving the Lord fervently doesn’t always mean doing big or loud things. It often means doing small things faithfully — with joy, diligence, and love. Every act of service, no matter how ordinary, can carry divine power when done with passion for God’s glory. When our hearts burn for Christ, our hands will naturally move to serve others.

A passionate servant inspires others. Zeal is contagious — it reminds those around us that following Christ is not a burden but a joy. When we serve with fervor, we testify that our God is worthy of our best energy, time, and love.

𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:

This week, examine the state of your spiritual passion. Have weariness or distractions dimmed your zeal? Spend time in prayer and Scripture to reconnect with your purpose in Christ. Ask the Lord to renew your fire for serving Him. Then, reach out to someone who may be discouraged — offer a word of encouragement, a prayer, or a helping hand. Sometimes, the best way to reignite your own passion is to help rekindle someone else’s.

Lord, thank You for calling me to serve You with joy and passion. Forgive me for the times I have grown weary or lost focus. Renew my zeal, O God — fill me again with the fire of Your Spirit so that I may serve You wholeheartedly. "Human dignity, our calling to love, and God’s design for holiness."

𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝘆𝗼𝘀 𝘀𝗮 𝗔𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗼

Mula pa sa simula, nilikha tayo ng Diyos na may kakaibang tatak — ang Kanyang imahe. Hindi lang tayo basta “ginawa,” tayo ay hinubog ayon sa Kanyang wangis.

“𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥, ‘𝘓𝘦𝘵 𝘶𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦, 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴…’” — Genesis 1:26 (ESV)

Sa bawat hininga natin, sa bawat desisyon, at sa bawat pakikitungo sa kapwa, dala natin ang bakás ng Diyos na buhay, banal, at mapagmahal.

Sa pananampalatayang Nazareno, pinanghahawakan natin na ang tao ay nilikha sa larawan ng Diyos (Articles of Faith, Article VII). Ito ang dahilan kung bakit ang bawat buhay ay may dignidad, layunin, at kakayahang pumili ng tama.

𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝘆𝗼𝘀: 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻

Ang "𝐼𝑚𝑎𝑔𝑜 𝐷𝑒𝑖" ay higit pa sa pisikal na anyo. Ito ay tungkol sa ating moral na kalikasan at kakayahang makipag-ugnayan sa Diyos.

“𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘪𝘮, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘪𝘮?” — Psalm 8:4 (ESV)

Binigyan tayo ng Diyos ng isip para makilala Siya, puso para magmahal, at kamay para maglingkod. Kaya’t bawat tao — mayaman o mahirap, bata o matanda — ay may halaga sa Kanya.

Ang ating dignidad ay hindi nakabatay sa trabaho, edukasyon, o relihiyon —
ito ay nakaugat sa kung sino ang huminga ng buhay sa atin.

𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝘆𝗼𝘀 𝗻𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗮, 𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗮𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗼

Sa kasamaang-palad, nasira ang larawang iyon nang pumasok ang kasalanan sa mundo (Romans 3:23). Pero hindi doon nagtapos ang kuwento.

“𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭… 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18 (ESV)

Sa pamamagitan ni Cristo, muling ibinabalik ng Diyos ang Kanyang larawan sa atin. Ito ang tinatawag nating 𝑠𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑓𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 — ang patuloy na pagbabago ng puso at isipan upang maging katulad Niya.

Ayon sa Manual of the Church of the Nazarene, Article X: Entire Sanctification:

“𝘐𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘮 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘺 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵… 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘴𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘣𝘰𝘳.”

Kaya’t ang pagiging “larawan ng Diyos” ay hindi lang pribilehiyo — ito ay pananagutan. Tinawag tayong maging salamin ng Kanyang pag-ibig at kabanalan sa mundo.

"𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗼 𝗗𝗲𝗶" 𝘀𝗮 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝘄-𝗔𝗿𝗮𝘄

Paano natin ito maisasabuhay?
𝟭. 𝗦𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮 𝗸𝗮𝗽𝘄𝗮.
Ang bawat tao ay nilikha ng Diyos — kaya dapat silang pahalagahan.
“𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘣𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧.” (Mark 12:31 ESV)

𝟮. 𝗦𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗮𝘄𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗸𝗮𝗵𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗽.
Ang imahe ng Diyos sa atin ay nakikita sa ating mga pagpili.

𝟯. 𝗦𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗮𝗻𝗴-𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗯.
Ang Diyos mismo ay naglingkod. (Philippians 2:5-7)

𝟰. 𝗦𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘆 𝗻𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗮 𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻.
Ang kabanalan ay hindi instant o biglaan — ito ay araw-araw na pagsuko.

𝗕𝘂𝗼𝗱: 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝘆𝗼𝘀, 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗮𝗼

Ang “Imago Dei” ay hindi lamang isang konsepto ng paglikha — ito ay paanyaya at paalala sa bawat isa sa atin.

𝙋𝙖𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙖𝙮𝙖 — na lumakad sa wangis ng ating Lumikha.
Tinatawag tayong mamuhay nang may kabanalan, pag-ibig, at katarungan — mga katangiang sumasalamin sa Diyos mismo. Ang ating mga salita, gawa, at desisyon ay dapat magpakita ng liwanag ng Diyos sa isang mundong madalas ay naliligaw sa dilim. Ang pagiging larawan ng Diyos ay hindi lamang pagkilala sa Kanya, kundi pagsasabuhay ng Kanyang kabutihan sa araw-araw: sa paraan ng ating pakikitungo, pagpapatawad, at paglilingkod.

𝙋𝙖𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙡𝙖 — na ang ating halaga ay hindi nawawala, kahit sa gitna ng kahinaan. Kahit tayo ay nagkakamali, nasasaktan, o nakakalimot, ang wangis ng Diyos ay nananatiling bahagi ng ating pagkatao. Hindi ito nabubura ng kasalanan, bagkus ay patuloy na tinutubos at pinababanal ni Kristo. Sa Kanya, ang ating pagkatao ay muling nabubuo — mula sa basag tungo sa buo, mula sa kawalang-pag-asa tungo sa bagong pag-asa.

Tayo ay nilikhang kawangis ng Diyos, tinubos ni Kristo, at patuloy na binabago ng Espiritu Santo. Ito ang tatlong haligi ng ating pagkakakilanlan bilang mga anak ng Diyos. Dito rin nakaugat ang ating layunin sa mundo: na maging salamin ng Kanyang pag-ibig at biyaya, maging mga tagapagdala ng kapayapaan, at maging kasangkapan ng pagbabago sa lipunan.

Sa huli, ang “Imago Dei” ay paanyaya sa pagiging totoo sa ating pagka-tao — isang pagka-taong nakaugat sa Diyos, at isang paalala na sa bawat hininga, kilos, at pag-ibig, ay naroroon ang bakas ng Maylikha.

𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:

Leadership is measured by humility. In these few but powerful words, Jesus completely redefines what it means to be great. In a world that often celebrates power, recognition, and position, Christ teaches that true greatness is found in serving others. To lead like Jesus means to lower ourselves—not to be weak, but to show strength through humility and love.

Jesus spoke these words to challenge the pride of the religious leaders of His time, who sought honor and praise. He reminded His followers that leadership in God’s kingdom is not about being above others but about being beneath them—lifting them up, supporting them, and helping them grow. The greatest leaders are those who serve quietly, love deeply, and lead by example.

Humility does not mean thinking less of ourselves, but thinking of ourselves less. When we lead with humility, we make room for God to work through us. Our words become kinder, our actions more thoughtful, and our hearts more compassionate. Every time we choose humility over pride, we become more like Christ, who “came not to be served, but to serve.”

True leadership begins at the feet of others—when we are willing to listen, to care, and to serve without expecting recognition. In God’s eyes, the humble servant is the one who stands tallest.

𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:

This week, practice humility in your daily interactions. Listen before speaking, be patient when misunderstood, and respond with grace instead of pride. In leadership, focus less on being honored and more on honoring others. Before beginning each day, ask God to give you a servant’s heart—one that seeks to serve, not to shine. Remember: when you walk in humility, you walk closely with Christ.

𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿:

Lord Jesus, thank You for showing me that true greatness is found in serving others. Teach me to lead with humility, to speak with gentleness, and to love without expecting anything in return. Help me to follow Your example—to lift others up instead of seeking to be lifted. The balance of God’s providence and our responsibility to choose Him.

𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮: 𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗞𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗵𝗮𝗻

Isang malaking tanong ng pananampalataya:
“Kung si God ang may kontrol sa lahat, may saysay pa ba ang mga desisyon ko?” “Kung may free will tayo, ibig bang sabihin hindi na Siya tunay na makapangyarihan?”

Ito ang misteryo ng sovereignty ng Diyos at kalayaan ng tao (free will) — dalawang katotohanan na tila magkasalungat, pero sa pananampalatayang Kristiyano, lalo na sa ating mga Nazarenes, ito ay magkasamang katotohanan na parehong galing sa pag-ibig ng Diyos.

Sa Article I – The Triune God ng Articles of Faith, malinaw na sinasabi:
“𝑊𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑣𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑒𝑥𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑡, 𝑖𝑛𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝐺𝑜𝑑, 𝑆𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑖𝑔𝑛 𝐶𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑜𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑆𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑒.”

Ito’y nagpapaalala sa atin na walang bahagi ng universe, ni isang segundo ng buhay, ang nakatakas sa Kanyang kapangyarihan.

Ngunit sa Article VII – Prevenient Grace, idinagdag naman:
“𝑊𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑣𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑢𝑚𝑎𝑛 𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑒’𝑠 𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑖𝑛 𝐺𝑜𝑑𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑙𝑢𝑑𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑡𝑜 𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑜𝑠𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑡𝑤𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑟𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑤𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑔, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 … ℎ𝑢𝑚𝑎𝑛 𝑏𝑒𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 𝑤𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑚𝑎𝑑𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑏𝑙𝑒.”

Dito natin makikita na ang Diyos ay hindi isang dictator na kumokontrol sa bawat kilos natin, kundi isang Ama na may malasakit — isang Diyos na nagbibigay ng kalayaan upang tunay tayong makapiling sa pagmamahal at kabanalan.

𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗮𝗻

Isipin mo ang buhay na parang isang grand orchestra. Ang Diyos ang Composer at Conductor — Siya ang may plano, may melodya, may direksyon. Tayo naman ang mga musikero — may kakayahang magpatugtog, minsan sablay, minsan nasa tono. Pero sa dulo, ang layunin ay iisa: ang musika ng Kanyang kalooban.

Hindi kailanman sinuko ng Diyos ang Kanyang kapangyarihan, ngunit pinili Niyang bigyan tayo ng kalayaang magdesisyon — upang ang ating pagsunod ay maging totoo, at hindi sapilitan.

Sabi nga ng Biblia:

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗯𝘀 𝟭𝟲:𝟵 (𝗘𝗦𝗩): “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”

𝗗𝗲𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝟯𝟬:𝟭𝟵 (𝗘𝗦𝗩): “I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live.”

𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝟴:𝟮𝟴 (𝗘𝗦𝗩): “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.”

Ang Diyos ay kumikilos sa likod ng lahat ng pangyayari, ngunit hindi Niya inaagaw ang ating kakayahan pumili.
Siya ang nagtatakda ng hangganan, ngunit tayo ang tumatahak sa daan.

𝗣𝗮𝗴𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝘆𝗼𝘀

Kapag may nangyayaring hindi maganda—sakit, pagkatalo, pagkalugi, o pagkabigo—madalas nating tanungin,

“Nasaan si Lord? Bakit Niya hinayaan ito?”

Ang sagot: nandoon pa rin Siya.
Hindi dahil nawawala Siya sa kontrol, kundi dahil ang plano Niya ay higit sa ating pagkaunawa. Ang kalayaan na ibinigay Niya ay hindi tanda ng kawalan ng kapangyarihan, kundi patunay ng Kanyang pagmamahal.

Sabi sa Romans 8:28, kahit sa mga maling desisyon natin, may paraan pa rin Siya upang ibalik ito sa kabutihan. Ang tawag dito ay providence — ang mahiwagang paraan ng Diyos upang ang lahat ng bagay ay magtugma ayon sa Kanyang dakilang layunin.

Ang ating responsibilidad ay magtiwala at tumugon.
Kapag pinili nating magtiwala kahit hindi malinaw ang lahat, nagiging mas matatag ang ating pananampalataya.

𝗦𝗮 𝗕𝘂𝗵𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗮

Ang buhay Kristiyano ay hindi pagiging passive na naghihintay lang ng milagro. Ito ay pagsasagawa ng pananampalataya sa gitna ng kalayaan.

Sabi sa Philippians 2:12-13 (ESV):

“𝑊𝑜𝑟𝑘 𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑜𝑤𝑛 𝑠𝑎𝑙𝑣𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑓𝑒𝑎𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑖𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝐺𝑜𝑑 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢, 𝑏𝑜𝑡ℎ 𝑡𝑜 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝐻𝑖𝑠 𝑔𝑜𝑜𝑑 𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒.”

May parte si God—Siya ang nagbibigay ng lakas at direksyon.
May parte rin tayo—tayo ang pipili kung susunod o lalayo.
Ang tunay na kabanalan ay pagsasabay ng Kanyang kapangyarihan at ating pagpapasya.

Sa Manual of the Church of the Nazarene (2017–2021), ipinapaalala na “𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒚 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒐𝒎 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒆𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒆 𝒐𝒃𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆.”
Ibig sabihin, kapag pinili nating sumunod, hindi natin sinusuko ang ating kalayaan—bagkus, ginagamit natin ito sa pinakamatagumpay na paraan: ang maging kaisa ni Cristo.

𝗕𝘂𝗼𝗱:

Ang Diyos ay soberano — Siya ang may huling salita sa lahat.
Ang tao ay malaya — ngunit may pananagutan sa kanyang mga pagpili.
Ang kalayaan ay kaloob, hindi panganib — at kapag ginamit sa tama, nagiging daan ito ng kabanalan.
Sa ugnayan ng sovereignty at free will, nakikita natin ang tunay na partnership between God and man.
Ang Diyos ang may plano, pero tayo ang Kanyang kasamang tagaganap.

𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽𝘀

𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

Sa anong bahagi ng buhay mo mo nakikita na gumagalaw ang Diyos kahit may mga bagay kang pinili sa sarili mong desisyon?

Paano mo maipapakita ang pagtitiwala sa plano ng Diyos kahit hindi mo nauunawaan lahat ng nangyayari?

Ano ang ibig sabihin sa iyo ng “God is in control, yet I am free”?

𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 – “𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀”

Hatiin ang grupo sa maliliit na team.

Bawat team ay magbabahagi ng isang sitwasyon kung saan kailangan pumili sa pagitan ng dalawang magkaibang desisyon (hal. magpatawad o magtanim ng galit, sundin si God o sundin ang sarili).

Pag-usapan: Ano ang naging bunga ng bawat pagpili? Nasaan si God sa bawat desisyon?

Tapusin sa pamamagitan ng pagbabahagi ng isang verse na nagpalakas sa bawat isa.

“Aming Diyos na Makapangyarihan, salamat sa Iyong kabutihan at sa kalayaan na Iyong ipinagkaloob sa amin.

Tulungan Mo kaming gamitin ang aming kalayaan hindi sa kasalanan, kundi sa pagsunod sa Iyong kalooban.

Sa tuwing nahihirapan kaming makita ang Iyong plano, paalalahanin Mo kami na Ikaw ay tapat, at ang lahat ng bagay ay may layunin sa Iyo.
Turuan Mo kaming magtiwala, kumilos, at manampalataya.
Sa pangalan ni Jesus, Amen.”

𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:

Every believer has a calling to serve. God, in His wisdom, has given each of us unique gifts — not for self-promotion, but for the building up of others and the strengthening of His Church. Our abilities, talents, and resources are not accidents; they are divine assignments entrusted to us to display God’s grace in diverse ways.

Peter reminds us that service is not limited to a select few or to those in ministry roles. Every follower of Christ has been called and equipped to serve. Whether your gift is teaching, encouraging, helping, giving, or simply being present for someone in need, you are part of God’s ongoing work in the world.

When we use our gifts to serve others, we become instruments of God’s love. Our actions, no matter how simple, can bring comfort, healing, and hope. Serving with joy and humility turns our faith into something tangible — something that touches lives and draws people closer to Jesus. The more we give of ourselves in service, the more we reflect the heart of Christ, who came “not to be served, but to serve.”

Serving is not about doing great things for God; it’s about doing ordinary things with great love. Each act of kindness, each word of encouragement, and each moment of generosity becomes a reflection of God’s varied grace at work in and through us.

𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:

Take time this week to reflect on the gifts God has given you—both spiritual and practical. How can you use them to serve others? You may not have all the answers now, but start small: offer help to someone in need, volunteer your time, share encouragement, or pray for someone who is struggling. Remember, your service doesn’t have to be grand; it simply has to be faithful. God can turn small acts of obedience into powerful testimonies of His grace.

𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿:

Lord, thank You for the gifts and abilities You have placed within me. Help me to recognize them not as my own possessions, but as tools for Your glory and the good of others. Teach me to use my gifts with humility, faithfulness, and love. Open my eyes to see opportunities to serve this week, and give me the courage to act. May my service reflect Your heart and bring others closer to You. Amen.

𝐃𝐨 𝐍𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬’ 𝐃𝐚𝐲?
𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐀 𝐍𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬’ 𝐃𝐚𝐲

Every year, on November 1, churches and communities around the world observe All Saints’ Day — a time of remembrance for those who have faithfully lived and died in the Lord. In some Christian traditions, it is a day of veneration, prayers to saints, and formal liturgical ceremonies. For others, it is a quiet reflection on the lives of faithful believers whose examples continue to inspire.

But how does the Church of the Nazarene, a denomination within the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition, understand and approach this day? Do Nazarenes observe All Saints’ Day?

The answer is both theological and practical: while the Church of the Nazarene does not officially require the observance of All Saints’ Day, many Nazarenes recognize and value the meaning behind it — a time to remember God’s faithfulness through the lives of His people and to recommit ourselves to live in that same grace today.

𝗔 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀

The Articles of Faith of the Church of the Nazarene affirm belief in “the communion of saints.” This expression, found in Article X – The Church, declares:

“𝑊𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑣𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐ℎ𝑢𝑟𝑐ℎ, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑓𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑒𝑠 𝐽𝑒𝑠𝑢𝑠 𝐶ℎ𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑡 𝑎𝑠 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑑, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝐺𝑜𝑑 𝑚𝑎𝑑𝑒 𝑛𝑒𝑤 𝑖𝑛 𝐶ℎ𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑡, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐵𝑜𝑑𝑦 𝑜𝑓 𝐶ℎ𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑡 𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜𝑔𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑏𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐻𝑜𝑙𝑦 𝑆𝑝𝑖𝑟𝑖𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑊𝑜𝑟𝑑. 𝑊𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑣𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑜𝑓 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝐶ℎ𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑡, 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑒 𝑜𝑛 𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑡ℎ 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑜 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑔𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒.”

This doctrine teaches that the church is not divided by time, death, or geography. All believers — past, present, and future — belong to one great family of faith. Those who have gone before us are not gone from the fellowship of the church; rather, they remain part of the body of Christ, now perfected in His presence.

This truth reflects the words of Hebrews 12:1:

“𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒, 𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑤𝑒 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑑 𝑏𝑦 𝑠𝑜 𝑔𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡 𝑎 𝑐𝑙𝑜𝑢𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝑤𝑖𝑡𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑒𝑠, 𝑙𝑒𝑡 𝑢𝑠 𝑎𝑙𝑠𝑜 𝑙𝑎𝑦 𝑎𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑤𝑒𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑖𝑛 𝑤ℎ𝑖𝑐ℎ 𝑐𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 𝑠𝑜 𝑐𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑦, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑙𝑒𝑡 𝑢𝑠 𝑟𝑢𝑛 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑢𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑠𝑒𝑡 𝑏𝑒𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑢𝑠.”

When Nazarenes remember the “saints,” they are not venerating them or seeking their intercession. Instead, they are celebrating the ongoing story of God’s grace — a story written through ordinary people who lived in extraordinary obedience.

𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴

The Church of the Nazarene firmly believes that Christ alone is our mediator between God and humanity. As written in 1 Timothy 2:5 (ESV):

“𝐹𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝐺𝑜𝑑, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑚𝑒𝑑𝑖𝑎𝑡𝑜𝑟 𝑏𝑒𝑡𝑤𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝐺𝑜𝑑 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑚𝑒𝑛, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑚𝑎𝑛 𝐶ℎ𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑡 𝐽𝑒𝑠𝑢𝑠.”

Therefore, Nazarenes do not pray to the saints but thank God for the saints. The focus is never on human accomplishment but on divine grace working through human lives.

In some Nazarene congregations, All Saints’ Day or an equivalent “Memorial Sunday” may include reading the names of members who have passed away, lighting candles of remembrance, or offering prayers of thanksgiving. Such acts serve as expressions of gratitude, acknowledging that the same God who sustained them continues to sustain His church today.

This approach aligns with the Wesleyan-Holiness understanding of the church — not as a hierarchy of spiritual elites, but as a community of believers sanctified by grace and empowered for service.

𝗪𝗲𝘀𝗹𝗲𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀: 𝗔 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

The Wesleyan tradition, from which the Church of the Nazarene springs, has long valued remembrance as a means of grace. 𝑱𝒐𝒉𝒏 𝑾𝒆𝒔𝒍𝒆𝒚, founder of Methodism, held deep respect for the faithful believers who had gone before him, often referring to them as examples of God’s sanctifying work in human lives.

In his sermons and journals, Wesley expressed gratitude for the “great cloud of witnesses” (Hebrews 12:1) who inspired believers to persevere in faith and holiness. Historical accounts note that All Saints’ Day was one of Wesley’s favorite occasions for worship and reflection, not as a day of veneration, but as a celebration of God’s grace revealed through the lives of holy men and women.

For Wesley, remembering the saints was never about elevating them above others — it was about praising God for His sanctifying grace, the same grace available to every believer. Their lives were testimonies of what God can do in those fully surrendered to Him.

As heirs of this Wesleyan heritage, Nazarenes share this conviction: the saints are living evidence of God’s power to purify, sustain, and perfect His people. Their stories challenge us to walk faithfully, trusting that the same Spirit who empowered them continues to sanctify and strengthen us today.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 “𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀” 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆

In Nazarene belief, the term 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒕 does not refer to a select few who have achieved extraordinary moral success or performed miracles. It refers to all who have been set apart by faith in Christ.

As the Apostle Paul wrote to the believers in Ephesus:

“𝑇𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑠 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝐸𝑝ℎ𝑒𝑠𝑢𝑠, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑓𝑎𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑓𝑢𝑙 𝑖𝑛 𝐶ℎ𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑡 𝐽𝑒𝑠𝑢𝑠” (Ephesians 1:1, ESV).

Here, Paul used “saints” to describe ordinary believers — men and women striving to live holy lives empowered by the Holy Spirit.

This understanding resonates deeply with the Church of the Nazarene’s emphasis on 𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 — a work of grace whereby the believer’s heart is cleansed from sin and filled with love for God and others. The holiness of the saints, therefore, is not a personal achievement but a reflection of God’s transforming presence.

𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻-𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀

If All Saints’ Day teaches us anything, it is this: 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙪𝙨. The Church today continues that same mission — to be a holy people shaped by God’s love, standing as witnesses of His kingdom in a world of darkness.

The saints we remember were not perfect, but they were faithful. They lived and died trusting in God’s promises. Their faith urges us to do the same — to persevere, to serve, and to love as Christ loved.

The Apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 3:13–14 (ESV):

“𝐵𝑢𝑡 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐼 𝑑𝑜: 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑔𝑒𝑡𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑏𝑒ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑎ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑑, 𝐼 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑜𝑛 𝑡𝑜𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑔𝑜𝑎𝑙 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑧𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑢𝑝𝑤𝑎𝑟𝑑 𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑜𝑓 𝐺𝑜𝑑 𝑖𝑛 𝐶ℎ𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑡 𝐽𝑒𝑠𝑢𝑠.”

To live as modern-day saints means to press on in grace, to embody holiness in everyday life, and to point others toward Christ through acts of mercy, humility, and compassion.

𝗔 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲

For Nazarenes, All Saints’ Day is more than remembrance — it is a celebration of hope. We grieve the loss of loved ones, but we do not grieve without hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13).

We believe in the promise of resurrection, that those who have died in Christ now rest in His presence and will rise again in glory. This faith sustains the Church across generations and reminds us that death is not the end, but a doorway into eternal fellowship with God.

Revelation 21:4 offers this comforting assurance:

“𝐻𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑤𝑖𝑝𝑒 𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑦 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑟 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑒𝑦𝑒𝑠, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑑𝑒𝑎𝑡ℎ 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑏𝑒 𝑛𝑜 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒, 𝑛𝑒𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑏𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑛𝑜𝑟 𝑐𝑟𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑛𝑜𝑟 𝑝𝑎𝑖𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑦𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒, 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑒𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑝𝑎𝑠𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑦.”

Thus, as Nazarenes reflect on All Saints’ Day, we look backward in gratitude and forward in hope — celebrating a God who is faithful through every generation.

While All Saints’ Day is not an official observance required by the Church of the Nazarene, its spirit aligns closely with our beliefs. It offers a sacred opportunity to pause, remember, and give thanks for those who have lived before us in faith and holiness.

We honor their memory, not by elevating them, but by emulating their devotion, trusting that the same grace that sustained them continues to transform us today.

As the Apostle Paul wrote:
