Thus, we ambition to be able to apply our work in the medical and industrial sectors in multiple areas such as Bioengineering, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering. We are also focused on the improvement of structural and (multi-)functional properties of the currently available materials, favouring green chemistry or even the use of biomaterials found in nature themselves without thorough processing. Our scientific range has recently been expanded to cell culture, engineering of microenvironments to control cell behaviour and organization, as well as new biosensors for detection of cells or their products, which may be clinically exploited.
