It was both myself and my mums first time at a karting race, and visiting this track - we had gone out to Thornton beach the day before and looked it up on a whim, saw this was happening and decided to pop by

We got there about mid day and racing hadn't settled yet, everyone was really nice and we both had a really cool time. Thanks for the day out and the opportunity to take these!

Another sporting event first for me (and dad).

Met some really cool people and it was super neat learning how this all worked in real time, even through the Aotearoa spring special of being caught in torrential rain and being sunburned in the hour. I think it was the essential car event hot chips that pulled us through 10/10

Knew absolutely nothing other than the seven sharp special going into this but everyone was so kind and helpful, the racing, the energy, and the atmosphere was brilliant

This is my home town, and where I got introduced to rallying around 2008 where there was also a service stop here, not sure the specific race though

I was 6ish years old and I came down with my mum and nana, I got 2 signed posters from drivers and those things were my prized possessions. It was really cool seeing well over a decade years later kids getting the same and being just as excited.

Walking through all the cars was just as cool as it was back then, so a big thanks to everyone involved for keeping that magic alive

First ever in person rally I've attended, and first cars both dad and i have ever photographed. Figured it out in the end after climbing an unnecessary hill and venturing through blackberry taller than me to find a good spot. Sard soap is a miracle worker.

Absolutely brilliant afternoon - we left covered in dirt, rain, and very excited to come back for next years event
