Paul has just returned from the global media launch of the all-new Norton Atlas in Iceland, where we spent two days getting to know the reborn British brand’s new middleweight adventure bike, riding through some of the country’s incredible volcanic landscapes.
The Atlas marks Norton’s return to the adventure segment with a completely new platform powered by a 585cc liquid-cooled parallel twin producing 51kW (69hp) and 57.5Nm. It comes loaded with premium equipment including fully adjustable KYB suspension, a Bosch six-axis IMU with lean-sensitive ABS and traction control, wheelie and slide control, cruise control, a bidirectional quickshifter, five riding modes and an 8-inch TFT touchscreen with built-in navigation and smartphone connectivity.
There’s plenty more to tell, but the riding impressions are still under embargo.
