Te Kaa - Igniting your Maori culture lcopmetency has one mission:
To help 10,000 people positively identify with Maori culture. One way we achieve this is through the delivery of a fun, safe and explorative training programme, that ignites your understanding of the Maori world. Te Kaa was created by Precious Clark of Ngati Whatua, Waikato and Pakeha descent.

Mānawatia a Matariki ✨
As the Matariki stars rise, we are invited to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most.
Matariki is a time to remember those who have passed, celebrate the present with whānau and friends, and set our intentions for the year ahead with hope and purpose.
This year’s theme, Matariki Herenga Waka – “The Gathering of Canoes,” reminds us of the strength we find in coming together. It is a celebration of unity, connection, and the many journeys that bring us alongside one another.
At Maurea, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Matariki. May this season bring reflection, renewal, and opportunities to strengthen the relationships that matter most.
Mānawatia a Matariki.
Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa. ✨

Today, Maurea turns 14! 🎉
Fourteen years of walking alongside people, organisations and communities, helping create workplaces where Māori can thrive and where meaningful partnerships can grow.
To every participant who has trusted us with their learning, every organisation that has invited us into their spaces, and everyone who has supported and believed in our kaupapa over the years — ngā mihi nui ki a koutou. We simply couldn’t have reached this milestone without you.
Like any journey, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing. Building a values-based business comes with its challenges, but we’ve always believed that if you stay true to your kaupapa, lead with integrity, and keep people at the heart of what you do, the path will continue to unfold.
We’re incredibly fortunate to have a team whose knowledge, lived experience, passion and commitment allow us to support others on their own journeys. Every conversation, workshop, webinar and partnership is made stronger because of the people behind Maurea.
As we celebrate this milestone, we’re also excited about what’s ahead. There is still so much important work to do, and we’re grateful to continue that journey alongside all of you.
Here’s to the last 14 years, and to the many more to come.
Ngā mihi nui,
The Maurea Team 💙

🎬 Webinar Recap 🎬
A huge thank you to everyone who tuned in to Maurea's webinar, hosted by CEO Precious Clark. It was fantastic to see so many people joining the discussion and contributing thought-provoking questions throughout the session.
A special thank you to our guest speakers, Amy from Amy Tea Consulting and Gina Rangi, Chair of Tūaropaki Trust, whose combined experience, expertise, and knowledge provided invaluable insights into the do’s and don’ts of incorporating Māori cultural practices into recruitment and interview processes. Their practical advice and real-world examples gave organisations plenty to reflect on as they continue to build culturally responsive and inclusive workplaces.
We’re grateful to everyone who took part and helped make the webinar such a success.
Until next time! What kaupapa would you like us to explore next?
