People don’t talk about it a lot here, but spraying is an integral part of the flower growing process.
Whether you’re fertilising for growth or spraying against pests or disease, it is the most efficient regular way to support your plants towards producing lots of lush blooms.
I try my best to stick with organic and natural options as I’m not a fan of nasty chemicals or poisons. Being vigilant and consistent with your crop checks and spraying programme is the best bet to avoid having to resort to using the nasties.
I love my little cart sprayer that is battery powered. It’s nice and light, quiet and easy to move around my cosy farmlet.
Not a bad job to have on the to-do list on a crisp winter’s day! ☺️

May has so much going on that it sometimes feels like you’ve been thrown around in a washing machine!
At the beginning of the month you have loads of plants calling ‘enough!’ and it’s time to start pulling out spent blooms to get ready for the spring plantings.
On the other side there are a bazillion seeds being sown, seedlings being pricked out and then hardened off ready for planting as soon as those beds get clear.
THEN, smack in the middle of all that seasonal change is Mother’s Day and the outpouring of love to all the mums out there, which involves bouquets, gifts and new flowery experiences here on the farmlet now too!
Phew, just writing it all down was exhausting!!
