Nepal House of Representatives Election 2026: We all called it a “digital election,” an election that was seen, influenced, debated, and felt across our digital spaces.

But how were the digital space used, and what impact did they created in Nepal's Election 2026??

To understand this, Digital Rights Nepal (DRN) has prepared a report examining the use and impact of digital spaces during Nepal’s 2026 election.

The report looks at:
- how different actors, including Election Commission, political parties, candidates, Press Council, other government agencies, media, civil society, influencers, and voters, used digital platforms throughout the electoral process.
- the opportunities created by digital spaces for political participation and engagement,
- the risks and challenges associated with the use of digital spaces, including misinformation and disinformation, technology-facilitated gender-based violence, online harassment, privacy and digital security concerns, and the barriers faced by women, marginalized communities and other vulnerable groups.

The report has also provided some recommendations to key stakeholders for upholding fair and effective use of digital space during upcoming elections.
